In 1920 Gentleman Lorenzo Scavino began to vinify part of the grapes prodouced in the vineyards by his family, a small peasant reality in the heart of Langhe, in Castiglione Falletto.
His son Alfonso began with enthusiasm to bottle the wine produced and thanks to Luigi’s father, Lorenzo, with perseverance and will, the wines were exported for the first time.
Azienda Agricola Azelia, in the center of the production area of Barolo, today consists of 16 hectares and produces an average of 80,000 bottles per year. Louis is helped by his wife Lorella and their son Lorenzo, who now represents the fifth generation of winemakers. The family management is essential as it allows an extreme accuracy in every step of production.
Great attention is paid to the work in the vineyards. The wine is made in the vineyard, from ancient vines, which produce very few clusters. The low yields are further reduced by green harvesting, which is essential to select the fruits, to have a uniform maturation and an impeccable quality.
Fundamental is a scrupulous attention to the wine cellar where respect for tradition does not exclude the contribution of modern techniques.
Arbiola dominates the Nizza Valley from the summit of the hill from which it takes its name. It is San Marzano Oliveto, on the border between Monferrato and Langhe. In its ancient cellar, has made wine from the grapes of its vineyards. The guidelines are: a viticulture in harmony with nature, an accurate selection in the vineyards to abtain a ntural concentration, always updated technologies and procedures to respect and exalt the grapes, along with a careful choice of oak and careful selection of companions for the blends. Along with the local vines Barbera and Moscato, Arbiola has recently introduced Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc. Thanks to a young and dynamic staff's contribution, in the year 2000 Arbiola was certified according to the ISO 9001 quality standards.
Piero Mancini, despite his profession as a successful dentist, has not abbandoned his passion, handed down by his family, for the cultivation of vines and wine–making.
He began in the 60s by planting the first vines and honing his experience at the helm of some important Cellars.
With passion, he continued to increase his plants, selected especially taking care of the whole Climate–Land–Vineyard, conscious of its importance in the possibility to obtain grapes of the highest quality, that offered their best characteristics and the uniqueness of their area of origin.
The commitment continued until the end of the 70s, when the vineyards of Piero Mancini covered 70 hectares in one of the most suitable areas of Sardinia: Gallura.
In 1989 he crowned his dream and opened his Cantina delle Vigne, just in front of the Gulf of Olbia.
The production of the grapes was then joined to winemaking and wine bottling.
It was an instant success. His entrepreneurial spirit and his culture addressed the production of wines of great quality that gained the deserved success and positioned themselves in the leading positions on the market of the island.
Today the winery is entrusted to his wife Marisa and their children Laura, Antonio and Alessandro, each with his/her own task:
Alessandro deals with the agronomic and commercial duties, Antonio with the technical and administrative ones, Marisa and Laura with communication and PR.
With the same passion of their father, the children put their commitment to grow the winery and its wines not only in quantity but also in quality.
The Biondi Winery was founded in the late nineteenth century and reached its maximum size in the period between the two world wars. Thanks to the management commitment of Salvatore Biondi (great–uncle of the present owner) and the wine experience of his brother Cirino, the company succeeded in producing excellent wine.
In this period, another wine producer, Lanzafame, comes into the company and creates the BIONDI & LANZAFAME brand. During the first decades of the twentieth century, the company, with this new designation, participated in several exhibitions and fairs and the wines presented won several awards and medals: Casalmonferato 1913, Paris 1914, Lyon 1914, Cuneo 1914, Milan 1914, the registration in the "GRANDE LIBRO D’ORO". The BIONDI & LANZAFAME wine was exported to Europe and USA.
After the end of World War II, for the company begins a period of decline, due to the failure to adapt to modern technology to the new market arisen after the war.

Azienda Agricola Solidea was founded in 1998 by the desire of Giacomo D’Ancona to put to work and develop his passion for wine and all the technical heritage accumulated over the years, firstly with his father, and later, after his untimely death, no sooner had he completed his studies, in the family company.
The company is strictly family–run, Giacomo is an oenologist and follows the different stages of production of raisin wine, while his wife Solidea, who gives her name to the entire line of products, is mainly engaged in the commercial side.
The company’s goal is to offer the consumer a young and elegant product, this all thanks to the support of modern and adequate plants, the traditional processing and a limited production of bottles.
The quality of the SOLIDEA line is the result of an accurate selection of the grapes grown in Pantelleria in the areas most exposed to the south, in the careful selection of the more valuable clusters, strictly hand–picked, which will then be put to dry for a few weeks and that will constitute the essential element of the production of raisin and moscato wines.
The growth and commitment of our company are confirmed by the increasing demand of the market and from consumers of the Solidea line, which includes raisin wine, Moscato and Lios, white table wine.

The Mimmo Paone farm was created in the 50s. The art of making wine has become a tradition that, from father to son, continues today and is enriched by year. Run by the owner Mimmo Paone and their children, Fabio (technical director), Simone and Donatella (sales managers), it boasts a first class curriculum. Present on the European market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Czech Republic) for 15 years, occupying the segment of the small distribution, produces approx. 300,000 bottles per year with DOC and IGT marks. In effect, in its product portfolio includes wines that have created the history of Messina and Sicily, including Malvasia delle Lipari DOC, Faro DOC and Mamertino di Milazzo DOC, which produces in its own vineyards of Castanea delle Furie (ME) and Condrò (ME).
The Mimmo Paone farm, this month, with launch a novelty to try as much as possible to introduce his products to all citizens of the area, creating the first store of 1,000 square meters, where you will have the opportunity to taste and buy up to eight types of new wine (bulk).

The Miceli wineries were founded from an old passion for wines of its founder Ignazio Miceli. The philosophy of the current group fully respects the original desire to identify vocations of territories and men and to give them value, introducing more and more technical and production innovations, on the potentialities of our land and our climate. Therefore, absolutely original wines in the Pantelleria island are produced in the winery among the dammusi and the barren land of the island. Then, in the winery of Sciacca all the wines produced from the surrounding lands converge. Also in respect of vocations, the winery of Sciacca is located in an area full of vineyards among the best on the island, with modern equipment for the production of IGT and DOC wines. The Pantelleria winery is located in the district of Rekale a short walk from the village of Scauri, and dates back, in the main part of its structure, to the end of the nineteenth century. In 1995, the Miceli family has completed a major renovation, equipping it with modern winemaking facilities, while respecting the context of the existing dammusi and land terraces. There, they produces dry wines made from Zibibbo, to achieve excellent results through the selection of the local vineyards, the harvest of the grapes at the right stage of ripeness, withering of reed mats, and fermentation and aging in barriques.
La Rocchetta is one of the most qualified and really interesting wine companies of the Treviso area, directed with great wisdom and expertise by its owner Gianni Meneghini.
