La Poderina

La Poderina is located in Montalcino in the area of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, an area known for its elegance and the balance of its grapes. With a corporate philosophy that believes in innovation in the service of tradition, the wines of La Poderina undergo maturation in French oak barrels as well as in large barrels. In the vineyard, highly qualitative farming systems are employed, with yields of 60 quintals per hectare are adopted, well below the 80 tons allowed by the specification. Brunello is produced in two versions: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and the election Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Banale DOCG. La Poderina also produces: Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Virgùlto Rosso di Toscana IGT, Grappa di Brunello, Moscadello di Montalcino DOC.

Castello di Poppiano Guicciardini

The Castle of Poppiano was a mighty medieval building with a triple ring of walls built around the year 1000 as a fortress to defend the outside part of Florence, and, as was pointed out by an act of inheritance of 1199, has been belonging to the Guicciardini family for at least nine centuries.

In this long period it has been the center of various events related to the history of Florence: so, for example, in 1369 Giovanni Acuto (John Hawkwood, the famous English Warlord), after the battle of Fosso Armonico, near Cascina, camped in the Castle of Poppiano. The castle was partially destroyed in 1529 during the siege of Florence, as Francesco Guicciardini recalled in his Memoirs. The Castle, as it is today, while maintaining its ancient grandeur, is the result of a restoration based on existing images in frescoes in other villas of the Guicciardini family in Val di Pesa and in Val d’Elsa, following the damage caused by an earthquake in 1812.

The Guicciardini family, since the thirteenth century had a prominent position in the political, social and economic life of Florence and in 1416 Piero G. was appointed "Conte Palatino" by Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg. They actively participated in the public life of Florence where they provided 44 "priors", 16 "gonfaloniers of justice" and 12 senators.

The pre–eminent personality of the family was Francesco, the Historian (1483-1540) who, after covering important positions with the Medici family – ambassador in Spain, Governor of Modena and Reggio, head of the League of Cognac – retired in Florence and in Poppiano, where he wrote his most important work, the "Historia d’Italia".

Simon Komjanc

The Simon Komjanc company is situated in the charming hills of San Floriano del Collio in Valerisce locality, in the DOC Collio renowned for the production of fine wines. The company has an area of ​​20 hectares, of which 11 hectares of vineyards.

It vinifies an average of 600 hl of wine, that sells mainly in Italy. The grapes come exclusively from vineyards owned and their vinification takes place in accordance to the modern technology, while respecting the traditional system that has always been used in the Collio. As an additional guarantee and in protection of quality, the product is bottled and marketed by the producing company.

Venegazzù

A winery that deals with the retailing of wines and spirits.


In particular, there are brands such as Casa Bainca sparkling wines, Jean Michel, Loredan–Gasparini and Ronco Blanchis.

Polje

The Polje farm covers a territory of more than 12 hectares of vineyards, some of them very old, situated on the sunny slopes of a hill and facing South–east.


The wines that express in the best way the characteristics typical of the "polje", to say the sinkholes that mark the lands of the Collio, in the surrounding area of Cormons, are Friulano (formerly Tocai Friulano), Ribolla and Sauvignon, which are also the ones that best enhance the grapes of this prestigious wine area, one of the most interesting in the world.



From other red grape vineyards of the eastern hills of Friuli, Refosco Dal Peduncolo Rosso is produced, a structured and elegant red wine, fruit of the great tradition of Friuli.

Braschi Tenuta del Gelso

The Braschi wines have been telling for over 70 years the story of this passion that feeds on the patient care of vineyards in Tenuta del Gelso, situated on a hill where you can enjoy the view of the harmonious vineyards’ slopes, to go down the plain. The Braschi company is a medium–small farm that bottles and sells the DOC wines from 20 hectares of vineyards on the agricultural estate of Tenuta del Gelso. Alberto, Andrea and Gabriele personally take care of the vineyards, harvesting the grapes and making wine.

Oddero

Oddero Poderi e Cantine is a renowned winery that upholds traditional winemaking practices to produce high-quality wines. The Ceretto family is one of the major vineyard owners of Piedmont, with more than 160 hectares of property located primarily in the most prized area of Langhe and Roero, including the Barolo and Barbaresco DOCG.

The name Ceretto is synonymous with owned vineyards, care, research and wines that express the true varietal character of the grapes with purity and elegance. The Ceretto family started in the sixties to invest in vineyards, enhancing the importance of terroir and creating different wineries for the production of their cru wines.



The family has 4 independent wineries, each dedicated to specific wines, and each with the name of its specific geographical location:



Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto, where Barolo cru are produced;

Bricco Asili in Barbaresco, home of Barbaresco cru;

Tenuta Monsordo Bernardina in Alba, dedicated to the production of wines from the areas of Langhe and Roero;

I Vignaioli di Santo Stefano in Santo Stefano Belbo, entirely dedicated to the production of Moscato wines.

The Ceretto family were the first in Piedmont to invest in the image of their wine entrusting the design of their labels and bottles to well-known designers. Over time, their attention went further, turning more and more to the visual arts. Then, they began a collaboration with famous artists and architects on many projects aimed to enrich and characterize their properties.

Azienda Agricola G.d Vajra

The G.D. Vajra farm owns the best lands in Vergne resort, halfway between Barolo and La Morra. It is a rather large part of the district of Barolo, where wines of great finesse and aromatic complexity are produced.

Aldo Vajra becomes to be interested in the family farm during the years of the university and makes his debut in the difficult year of 72. He runs away early from modernist manufacturers and begins a personal journey, in balance between tradition and modernity.

He produces intact wines, respectful of the terroir, elegant and fresh. With the support of his wife Milena, woman of extraordinary human qualities, he extends the farm area with new vineyards and new varieties, managed according to the criteria of organic farming. Today, the company covers an area of ​​50 hectares in the municipalities of La Morra, Barolo, Sinio, Serralunga, Novello and Mango.
