The best wineries in Marche.
The farm "Le Vigne di Clementina Fabi" was born from a family wine tradition; has its origins in the small territory of Montedinove (AP) at the end of the 19th century, when the Fabi family bought some farms there. Here he practices the peasant art by planting the vineyards which, in the descendants, still contribute to produce the grapes from which we obtain our wines. In 2008, after two centuries of exercise at the "genius loci", it was decided to enhance this story: Clementina and her family founded "Le Vigne di Clementina Fabi". Azienda Clementina Fabi Ancient history, modern technology, organic culture: we produce and transform the grapes obtaining products of character because they are grown by interpreting a terroir, unique and unrepeatable like that of Montedinove located in the hinterland of the Marca Picena, a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, feet of the Sibillini Mountains at 600 m asl.
The company, founded in 2002, is the result of a passion for wine and in general for the world of wine, of two businessmen, Enrico Giacomelli and Claudio Gabellini, owners and managers of a major enterprise of Information Technology with main base in Senigallia: Namirial S.p.A., which operates in the sector of the software and technology services production (www.namirial.com).
Conti di Buscareto company owns more than 100 hectares of cultivated area, including 70 dedicated to vineyards.
These latter are equally divided into three groups:
–Verdicchio, located on the heights of Arcevia;
–Lacrima Nera, present in the ancient Contrada Sant’Amico of Morro d’Alba;
–a variety of vines, national (Montepulciano and Sangiovese) and international (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) located in the estates of Monte San Vito and Camerata Picena.
From the olive groves present in the estates of Cartoceto and Monte San Vito two varieties of Extra Virgin Olive Oil of high quality are also obtained: the first is more decisive and fruity, the second is more delicate and light.
The entire production process of the products is performed directly by the company, from the management of the vineyards, to the grape harvest, to processing in the wine cellar, to the final preparation of the wines and their bottling. Wine production, in its various expressions, has increased exponentially in recent years (from 30,000 bottles of 2003 we reached 250,000 in 2012).
Filodivino's story is that of a Milanese entrepreneur in the textile sector who became a winemaker in the heart of the Marche region. The story of a return to the fundamental values that only the earth can give. Filodivino is in San Marcello, near Jesi. The sea at the right distance, around only vineyards, olive groves, ancient villages and gentle hills. Filodivino is a luxury wine resort with spa, kitchen, swimming pool and of course a modern cellar. It produces Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. Filodivino is an exclusive place for its size, maximum 20 guests can enjoy its beauty and simplicity. Here luxury is simple, it is the harmony of lines and colors, it is natural materials, visual continuity, the feeling of freedom but at the same time of protection that gives you the natural amphitheater that surrounds it.
The current company was born in the 70s thanks to the passion for the land, and wine in particular, by the Maroni family, for four generations at the helm of the business, with the aim of producing extremely limited quantities of fine wines, in the respect for the local wine tradition. The owned vineyard, of about 9 hectares, is located in the hills of the municipality of Offida at an altitude of about 290 meters above sea level; it is cultivated with respect for the environment and its integrity, favoring the use of natural pesticide products, furthermore all the manufacturing processes are done by hand. The production of the wines is deliberately limited to maximize the quality through controls that go from the harvest to the bottling. The company produces wines of great value favored in this by an area with a high wine-growing vocation such as the Offida Pecorino DOCG CROCIAIOLO, Passerina IGT, Rosso Piceno DOC DOMENIC and finally the MORETTO IGT which represents the great challenge of our cellar.
Sgaly is a modern organic winery of the Marca Fermana, founded from the experience of the Sgalippa family, gained over more than a century of hard and exciting work in its own vineyards.
To search and experiment more and more innovative solutions is a constant that characterizes them. And what most distinguishes them is a precise and careful production philosophy based on the environment, a prerequisite for the achievement of genuine wines, natural expression of the land.
«Wine must have the taste and smell of the grape of which it is made». No grape blends, no barrels, no techniques that would make the product less typical.
We produce in our winery, in our crusher and in our distillery, wine, oil and grappa using only raw material we produce in our farm, according to the sacred principle that «it is not being good to transform that makes the quality of a product, but always and only use raw materials of excellent quality».
The company was founded in 1981 by the owners Lucio Canestrari and his wife, Fiorella De Nardo, who work directly in the management of their vineyard and their winery. Pioneers of Verdicchio of quality, they have helped to redeem the image of cheap pizzeria wine spread in the 60s and 70s. The company currently is composed of three bodies, for a total surface of 17.5 hectares, with 9.5 hectares of vineyard in the Register of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and a production of about 50,000 bottles. All the wine produced comes from grapes grown by us, and all is Verdicchio Classico Superiore type; “Classico” means that the vineyard is located in the area of oldest tradition, “Superiore” that the vineyard has produced less than 11 tons of grapes per hectare.
The Madonnabruna farm cultivates its own vineyards in the rolling hills of Fermo, near the Adriatic Sea in the Marche region, at an altitude ranging between 100 and 300 meters. Sea breezes that caress the vines, the mild climate and fertile soils make our hills ideal for the cultivation of the vine.
The rows are bred with the technique of spurred cordon and production is limited by a careful thinning of the fruits. All lands of the company are cultivated according to the methods of production with low environmental impact.
In the company they cultivate mostly Montepulciano and Sangiovese that are history of the oenology of these lands. Next to them, recently, small plots of land have been introduced with some of the best international grape varieties, such as Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, in order to achieve innovative but always of the highest quality wines. Wine is made according to the most modern techniques and making great use of the cold. Much attention also is paid to the stages of maturation of the wines that, for red wines, takes place in oak barrels in a basement room at a constant and controlled temperature.
The winery of CasalFarneto is located in the heart of the Marche, in the panoramic hills 350 meters above sea level. Among the valleys and the characteristic medieval villages, CasalFarneto dominates a landscape rich in charm and splendour.
The estate, founded in 1995 and come to be part of the Togni Group seven years ago, currently is made of three ancient farmhouses and a modern winery. In an area naturally suited to viticulture, where tradition, passion and modern winemaking techniques are combined, CasalFarneto covers 32 hectares of land, of which 25 reserved to vineyards.
Among cultivated vineyards, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classic dominates with no doubt the production, establishing itself for firmness and quality: Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot represent all the value of the 5 hectares cultivated with red grapes, instead.
Rosso Piceno Superiore, Falerio, Offida Passerina, Offida Rosso, Offida Pecorino, Marche Rosato:
this is the prestigious production of DOC, DOCG and IGT Wines that Azienda Agrivitivinicola Cherri D’Acquaviva, founded in ancient times by the Cherri family, achieves.
Today, at the helm of the company, there is the son Paolo who manages and coordinates the vine–growing and wine–making activities in Acquaviva Picena, a locality in Southern Marche, near the border with Abruzzo.
Our family has been dealing with agriculture since the 18th century and comes from Montecarotto, one of the Castles of Jesi, in the Marche region.
Our farm owns an area of about 400 hectares and a diversified production: corn, wheat, sugar beets, sorghum and sunflowers.
We have 21 hectares of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi vineyards in the Classic DOC zone. In addition to 5 hectares of red Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes that fall within the DOC of Rosso Piceno.
We produce about 700/800 quintals per year of Verdicchio and 300 quintals of Rosso, only with grapes from our vineyards.
We also produce about 20/25 quintals of extra virgin olive oil, only from olive trees of our property.
For two years, our company has voluntarily applied in the vineyards and in olive groves a completely organic growing technique (organic growing).
For three generations the Bonci family has been producing and selling quality wines. The farm has 50 hectares of land, of which 35 are vineyards specialized in the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi classic DOC and Rosso Piceno DOC. The particular microclimate, the careful selection of the grapes, many years of experience along with the most modern techniques of artisan winemaking, rank the wines of the Bonci house in a leading position in the Italian market; a company that has always wanted to improve, as evidenced by the presence of two experimental vineyards followed with care in collaboration with the Institute of Arboreal Cultivation of the University of Milan.
Moncaro company has always been characterized by its strong bond to the territory of the Marche region and its environment. Maybe also for this reason, Moncaro considers itself expression of the culture of the Marche region: it is its heart and represents its heart.

Santa Barbara company has pursuited, from the beginning of its activity, two objectives: the revitalization of local grapes, Verdicchio and Montepulciano, and the creation of wines of “international taste” with great originality and personality.
The aim we focus on is certainly not easy, but wine requires courage combined with a hint of recklessness. In the panorama of Verdicchio, in addition to the already known Pignocco Bianco, Le Vaglie and Stefano Antonucci, from this year there is also “Tardivo ma non Tardo”, a classic Verdicchio from overripen plants of the 2001 vintage.
We are very pleased with the quality, after four attempts in the harvests of preceding years we managed to get a very special wine, which contains musk fragrances together with great persistence, characteristics that makes us hope for a good longevity.
Another novelty, “Il Maschio da Monte”, Montepulciano in single variety aged in barriques: the first vintage of the 2000 harvest was a great success, achieving even “5 Grappoli” in the AIS guide 2003. It is a wine that is strongly linked to our region, that enhances the benefits of this great, but extremely difficult, grape variety.
The intense aromas of cherries and wild berries have intrigued and attracted consumers who have made it their favorite.
We develop, finally, the second point of the program: in this context “Pathos” is produced from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes in equal parts, but with a peculiarity: all three grapes are grown in the same vineyard, a really interesting thing. Aged in French oak barrels that were “new” even in the 2000 harvest, it has already shown signs of great personality. Much more convincing the 2001 edition, with even more vertical hints of wild berries combined with a truly remarkable elegance.
Santa Barbara continues, however, in its experimental research that always tends to enhance the products of our great land.
