In 1995 Giuseppe Vizzotto bought his first plot of land in Mansuè, in the east Veneto lying between the rivers Livenza and Piave, to which he gradually added others.
Twenty-two hectares are characterized by geometrically planted vineyards that bury roots in the clayey alluvional soil so typical of this land that has been worked and naturally adapted to wine growing.

Pietra Tagliata s grew out of the commitment of a family in Sicily that has always believed in the extraordinary enological potential of its land and has 50 year of experience in producing premium wines. Convinced that is always necessary to be open to change in order to grow and improve, the family launched a new production project in 2000. Their adventure took wing from the family historic cellar in Marsala and the vineyards (50 He).
The permeable black earth, rich in volcanic sand and abounding in minerals and nutrients, interacts with a unique microclimate, influenced by altitude and exposure. The constant alternation between hot and cold temperatures on Mt. Etna has a beneficial effect on the processes of flowering, veraison and grape ripening. Each single grape berry produces sugars and acids that later express themselves in the intense bouquet and fresh, harmonious palate of the wines.

Vini Coppa d'oro project begins in the late '90 when, favoured by great natural conditions offered by our 'Puglia' land and waiting to face new challenges, we felt the need to spread pur long-time wine making skills to several national wine types such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Trebbiano and to regional ones such as Nero di Troia and Bombino Bianco.
It is within this particular background that Coppa d'oro grows and strengthens itself. We treasure our over 30 years wine making Know how and use it continuosly in order to obtain noble and high quality wines that respect our wisest traditions and certainly meet the customer's taste.
We have produced wine since 4 generations and we represent the oldest tradition of quality of Daunia. The hundred-year-old relationship with the consumer allowed us to extend our range of products to satisfy most refined tastes.
Faithful to an old tradition of quality, since 1996 our vineyards are subjected to organic farming. On calcareous grounds with a lot of skeleton of the sunny land of Puglia, we harvest grapes only at the peak of ripening. Winemaking is done in the company cellar, designed and equipped to safeguard integrity, quality and flavourings of the amazing bunches.
The ingrained experience of selection of the best grapes and the enthusiasm for our work ensure our company a product appreciated by our consumers and we are sure it will appreciated also by future appraisers of good taste.
Founded in the early sixties by a small number of vinegrowers, today the Cantolio winery consists of more than seven hundred members, who have been committed over the years to ensure the production of fine wines in respect of tradition, but always in step with the new technologies.

The property, located at the extreme south of the Montalcino boundry, was bought in 1994 and it had been totally abandoned but the land had been always dedicated to vineyards. This was a great opportunity, in as much as it gave us the chance to create an estate without any compromises, not needing to rely on somebody else's choises. In 1997 we began making our first Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino "il Roccolo", while with the vintage '98 we began to produce a Rosso di Toscana "Il Leccio" as our basic wine.
