For over 100 years the Rosso family has owned the cru: Cerretta, La Serra, Broglio, Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bella, Lirano and Damiano. In the early 80s, Giovanni Rosso refurbished most of the vineyards with very modern facilities, capable of producing only grapes of great quality.
In 2001, at the age of 27 years, his son David, winemaker and with important experiences, decided to personally take care of winemaking and of the fermentation of wines with a single objective: wine should be a perfect copy of its terroir. The land, the "magic" one of Serralunga d’Alba, is one of the best in the world.
The Cascina Cucco company is located in Serralunga d’Alba, at the foot of the castle of the fourteenth century, which overlooks the entire area of the Langhe of Alba. The valley of Serralunga is considered by many people as one of the most important areas of Barolo for the peculiarities of the oenological products obtainable. The name of our company evokes one of the several cru in Serralunga, that has always been considered among the highest quality ones of the area from which most of our grapes come.

In 1920 Gentleman Lorenzo Scavino began to vinify part of the grapes prodouced in the vineyards by his family, a small peasant reality in the heart of Langhe, in Castiglione Falletto.
His son Alfonso began with enthusiasm to bottle the wine produced and thanks to Luigi’s father, Lorenzo, with perseverance and will, the wines were exported for the first time.
Azienda Agricola Azelia, in the center of the production area of Barolo, today consists of 16 hectares and produces an average of 80,000 bottles per year. Louis is helped by his wife Lorella and their son Lorenzo, who now represents the fifth generation of winemakers. The family management is essential as it allows an extreme accuracy in every step of production.
Great attention is paid to the work in the vineyards. The wine is made in the vineyard, from ancient vines, which produce very few clusters. The low yields are further reduced by green harvesting, which is essential to select the fruits, to have a uniform maturation and an impeccable quality.

The Ceretto family is one of the major vineyard owners of Piedmont, with more than 160 hectares of property located primarily in the most prized area of Langhe and Roero, including the Barolo and Barbaresco DOCG.

The Ceretto family were the first in Piedmont to invest in the image of their wine entrusting the design of their labels and bottles to well-known designers. Over time, their attention went further, turning more and more to the visual arts. Then, they began a collaboration with famous artists and architects on many projects aimed to enrich and characterize their properties.
The G.D. Vajra farm owns the best lands in Vergne resort, halfway between Barolo and La Morra. It is a rather large part of the district of Barolo, where wines of great finesse and aromatic complexity are produced.
Aldo Vajra becomes to be interested in the family farm during the years of the university and makes his debut in the difficult year of 72. He runs away early from modernist manufacturers and begins a personal journey, in balance between tradition and modernity.
He produces intact wines, respectful of the terroir, elegant and fresh. With the support of his wife Milena, woman of extraordinary human qualities, he extends the farm area with new vineyards and new varieties, managed according to the criteria of organic farming. Today, the company covers an area of 50 hectares in the municipalities of La Morra, Barolo, Sinio, Serralunga, Novello and Mango.

Cascina Morassino is a small reality of authentic winegrowers with deep roots in the Langa territory. I had the pleasure to visit it and to meet Mauro and Roberto Bianco, who have been running it for generations, during an in–depth visit to the Langa Hills, starting from Barbaresco and the near Roero, last year, with a cheerful company of sommeliers on the pursuit of tastes and flavors.
Before Giovanni Negro, current owner of Azienda Agricola Negro Angelo e Figli, there was another person ho bore its name. In 1670 Giovanni Domeinico Negro, son of Audino, in the same area where nowadays the Perdaudin estate with its prestigious vineyards is located, owned a farmhouse with oven, farmyard, wine cellar and vine rows.
This historical memory, recorded in historical archives of the municipality of Monteu Roero, remains as an indelible mark of a past that has already become well known, specific of the territory.
Even today, Giovanni Negro and his farm are proud witnesses of the astonishing reproductive capacities of Roero.
Here, between Monteu Roero and Canale, where hills stretch majestically towards the sun, the vineyards and the wineries of Azienda Agricola Negro Angelo e Figli are located: almost fifty hectares cultived with vines, which favor the traditional grape varieties of the area: Arneis, Favorita, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Bondarda and Bracchetto.
At Cascina Riveri, in S. Anna locality, there is the core of the company: the premises of the winery, where wines are produced, fined, the spaces for welcoming those who arrive to learn about products and people who create them, the places where production and market strategies are developed, in a continuous and positive dialogue.
Here at Cascina Riveri, there is real life, that of the family of Giovanni Negro, life that vibrates and that leads this little group of people to the future world.
Here, Giovanni Negro is supported by his wife Marisa and their four children: Gabriele, Angelo, Emanuela and Giuseppe, now all engaged in the company, with which he studies and promotes future projects and implements with pride the current ones. The result of this combination of technology, tradition, young and old generations, is the production of pleasant wines, of outstanding quality, enriched by a strong personality, with intense aromas and complex structures, able to captivate the appreciation of Italy and the whole world.
