The company is situated between the municipalities of Castrovillari and Frascineto, in the heart of the area a stone’s throw from the vineyards.
The building was completely renovated and equipped with the most modern technologies and in compliance with maximum hygiene, achieving in this way a product that while retaining the flavor of the past is at the forefront for what concerns the production cycle.
Agriturismo Quercia is part of a promotional and development program of companies that are taking part in a program sponsored by ORUT (Observatory on Relations University and Development) in collaboration with the Regional Government of Calabria and the European Union.
Azienda Agricola Vincenzo Russo was founded in the 60s. The company is the only survivor among the many that stood in the area until the 80s and today, thanks to the perfect combination of new technological innovations and traditional recipes of the region, offers wines of ancient colors and flavors, through the simplicity of a place rich in history. Vincenzo Russo personally oversees the entire winemaking process. The grape varieties grown are a mixture of native and authorized varieties that have been present in the company for more than fifty years.
The Estates are located in the territory of Castrovillari. This is an impressive complex of about 123 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, a true paradise for the Magliocco, Montonico, Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varieties. The Estates are run by families of farming tradition and have been able to achieve with modern techniques, respectful of the environment, the goal of making wine ambassador and conscious medium of the entire territory.
The Agricultural Company Farneto del Principe stands on a hill at the foot of Altomonte, resplendent town in the province of Cosenza, perpetually kissed by the sun and caressed by the gentle breeze of the Ponentino, which goes from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Ionian Sea, this corner of Calabria is ideal for the cultivation of the vine and especially for some native varieties that we have discovered with passion and representing our flagship.
These conditions combined with the wine culture and tradition and passion of men who grow in full respect of the nature of these beautiful lands are the foundation of the company Farneto del Principe.
The estate is about 200 Ha of which approximately 70 hectares of vineyards, 15 hectares of Oliveto and the rest to cropland and woodland.
The company perfectly combines tradition and innovation. Its motto: Do not forget nothing of the lessons of the past and do not give up on the best use of this technology. The goal is to focus on higher and higher aims, to make wines that are important for their quality and not for the amount that can be produced. First of all quality, then, has become the company’s philosophy.
