The best wineries in Bardolino.
The name Conti D’Arco comes from the noble family owner of the medieval castle, that from the Cliff of Arco dominates the vineyards of the beautiful valley between Lake Garda and the Brenta Dolomites. The Italian Wine Group has purchased the property with the Conti D’Arco brand, with its long history, and has established a production agreement with Cantina Sociale Mezzacorona, actually one of the most interesting wine producing areas of Trentino.
Between Lake Garda and the Brenta Dolomites, the D’Arco castle overlooks the valley from the top of a high cliff. The hills that stretch in this area were chosen for the selection of precious vines already at the time of the Austro –Hungarian Empire. The story was the one of the noble family of Conti D’Arco. The names of Odorico, Vinciguerra, Prospero, Andrea D’Arco, are tied in the ages to events that touch the legend. Always close to other famous families, such as Gonzaga, and often counselors of Emperors, many of the Counts D’Arco were cultured and refined gentlemen; Nicolò was a poet and humanist, Giorgio lover of music and friend of Mozart. In the splendid castle and in the Renaissance buildings of the village, the deep and cool cellars called "Caneve" never missed, in which to store the excellent wine harvested with the tithes of the county.
The Conti D’Arco line includes a number of DOC wines of the Trentino region, selected in the more suited areas in the region by oenologists who follow every step of the process of production, from the vineyard to the bottle. A zone from the ideal soil and climate, Trentino also has a renowned tradition of sparkling wine making. For this reason, in the range, Talento Trento Doc and classic method sparkling wines dedicated to all special occasions are also present.
GRUPPO ITALIANO VINI was the first vinegrowing and winemaking company in Italy and among the first companies in the world to produce and commercialize valuable wines. The Gruppo owns 15 historic wineries, with well–renowed and spread all over the world brands, surrounded by charming vineyards of property (1,340 hectares) and situated in the most prestigious vinegrowing areas in Italy. Founded in 1986 it is situated in the eighteenth–century Villa Belvedere on Lake Garda in the province of Verona. Today the winery is composed of the universe of the Gruppo, that follows with accuracy all the phases of the production process: cultivation of the vines, harvesting, vinification, maturing and bottling under the expert and professional guidance of agronomists, oenologists and cellar managers.

Historic winery in the Veneto region. It stems from the union of two ancient Veronese wine realities: the one of the Counts Guerrieri, owners of a century–old estate with vineyards and winery in Bardolino, and the one of the Counts Rizzardi, who had bought their vineyards in Negrar in 1678, and built the historic winery of Pojega shortly after.
The seat is in Bardolino, in the old town belonged to the Guerrieri family and before to their ancestors, the Marquises Rambaldi, since 1450.
The property of Soave, with vineyards and winery in the heart of the classic area, in Costeggiola, was purchased in 1970 by Count Antonio Rizzardi.
The small estate of Dolcè in Valdadige has always been merged with the Guerrieri company of Bardolino.
The company today is a wine reality present in the four classic areas of production of the Veronese wines: Bardolino, Valpolicella, Soave, Valdadige.
In the heart of the classic Bardolino area, our Winery is located, which for as many as 5 generatios has been devoting itself with love and passion to the production of the great Classic Verona Wines. Only from the best grapes, wines of strong and distinguished character, such as Bardolino, Valpolicella, Amarone, Lugana, Soave and Custoza, are produced. Proud of our tradition, we reserve a meticulous care to all the stages of the production chain, from the cultivation in the vineyard, to the drying, to the vinification and the fining of great wines. Included in the winery, the Museum of Wine is located, created in 1991 to offer to all wine lovers a proof of the winemaking culture to which our family has been devoted for generations. Adjacent to the Museum there is a wine shop, that offers for tasting and sale the wines of our Winery. We organize also fascinating visits with tasting for groups.
According to an eonological map dated 1906, the name LENOTTI was already known in the past for the production of the Bardolino classico. At that time the farm sold wines exclusively in butts or demijohns. In the following years untill 1968 the farm constantly increased its production of high-quality wines, by making wine from local grapes and supplying the numerous bottlers of the neighbourhood. Since 1968, the farm has been bottling and selling the wines directly with the main goal of supplying our clients with high quality products at competitive prices.
Founded in 1971 by Walter Delibori and Giorgio Cristoforetti, it is still owned by the two families that follow directly the management.
The company produces all the great classic wines of Verona, like Bardolino, Lugana, Custoza, Soave, Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone, and, last but not least, great red and white IGT wines from native to the province of Verona grapes.
The Vigneti Villabella company today can boast a viticultural heritage of more or less 220 hectares of ownership and management.
The acquisition of Villa Cordevigo in Cavaion Veronese, an ancient noble residence of the eighteenth century with a consecrated church, surrounded by 100 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, is the compendium of the Villabella project towards the conservation and enhancement of the culture and tradition of the territory in search of the intrinsic quality of local wines starting from respect for the land and care of the vineyards. Everything to offer consumers around the world a prestigious selection of typical Italian wines, of quality in a unique setting.
The Consortium for the Protection of Bardolino DOC was founded in 1969, just a year after the adoption of the DOC for the Bardolino wine (dated May 28th, 1968) and engaged in the promotion and enhancement of the DOC Bardolino wines and of the area of production.
After the task of supervision conferred by the Ministry in 1980, then reconfirmed with the Ministerial Decree of 9th January 2004, which provided for the control plan on the whole supply chain (grower, winemaker, bottler and distributor), the Consortium has intensified its work focused on the control of all areas planted with vines to ascertain the yields, on the survay on the maturation pace, on the response to the complaints of the grapes and wines, on the control of the phases of maturation of the wines in the cellar and the verification of compliance of the product marketed with the qualitative parameters listed in the product specification.
A strong commitment to the implementation of the control plan as a result of the Ministerial Task of 2002, in particular in order to ensure the traceability of all the Bardolino DOC wines released to the market, from the bottle to consumption dating back to the vinegrower and winemaker who produced the raw material.
In addition, an activity of the Consortium is the control on consumer markets through the taking and subsequent verification of bottles from the shelves around the world, in collaboration with Federdoc.
In addition to the control activity, the Consortium of Bardolino carry out technical activities in the phytosanitary sector, with the periodical record, since 1982, of the climatic data using meteorological huts in various localities and through the issue, in collaboration with the Regional Phytosanitary Service and the cooperative wineries of the area, of a weekly newsletter aimed to a correct pest management program, in compliance with the farmers, the grapes product and the growing environment.
