The Caldaro Winery, founded in 1906, is an association of 450 farmers with a cultivable area of around 300 hectares and belongs to the most important companies of quality in South Tyrol in the whole Italy. Its members manage the heart of the Alto Adige wine area around the Kalterersee.
Among the estates, two vineyards of Pfarrhof and Castel Giovanelli stand out, as well as wines produced in classified areas (Lagenweine). To apply the philosophy of quality that we take voluntarily is both a mission and a stimulus. The ambition of our farmers is to obtain the as valuable as possible pressed material beyond the quality established. For the wines produced in other territories, winemakers are no longer only suppliers of grapes, but they participate also in the work in the winery, in tastings in progress and in decisions regarding further developments, thus becoming producers of wines.
Letrari: a family that has roots in the same history of the Trentino wine. Already active in 1647 in the area of Borghetto d’Avio, on river Adige, first as river rafters, then as traders and shrewd agricultural innovators. Leonello Letrari took the stage in the wine scene good drinking. Thanks to him, after war the wines of the dolomites gained in character and prestige beyond regional boundaries. It was always him who "created" the first blends and in the 60s began to develop fine sparkling wines, to found in 1976, together with his wife Maria Vittoria, the current family business.
Tradition and innovation are the beliefs of our company, consistently applied with modern agronomic practices, with the work and dedication of the new generations.
The same passion of Leonello, today, animates also the commitment of his daughter Lucia (oenologist like his father), to whom the major responsibility of the company is entrusted.
Shaped by the specific terroir and microclimate of Vallagarina, an environment characterized by river Adige and influenced by the Ora del Garda wind, which here creates a special microclimate that is typically Mediterranean, 25 different types of quality wine with strong varietal typicality are produced.
The temperate climate of the area also allows a limited and selected production of extra–virgin olive oil of exceptional fruity aroma. The Letrari farm, with its 23 hectares of vineyards situated in different localities of Vallagarina, has its seat in a modern and functional winery in Rovereto, faithful in appearance to the rural architecture of Trentino and surrounded by a large garden of Mediterranean species.
For 5 generations, we have operated in the Mezzocorona area in Trentino as vinegrowers and winemakers. In effect, the creation of the Dorigati company dates back to 1858.
The grapes we finify derive in part from the vineyards of property and in part from the vineyards of some small farmers who have always been confering their products to our winery according to a contract based on honor.
The production areas are located on the hills at the foot of the Mezzocorona mountain and in Piana Rotaliana, an area of special prestige, where the fecundity of the soil surface and the underground drainage combine in a right balance of nourishment and water.
The character is original: craft production, respectful of the dictates of classical sparkling wine making, utmost care of every stage, from the selection of grapes destined for base must, those that allow the wine to ferment in the bottle very slowly.
It turns into Abate Nero. Patience here is at home. Wine is aged on the lees to take foam much longer than usual. Do not be surprised, therefore, if on the label you find dates that go back to harvests of some times ago.
Each step is manual, for the direct control of every single bottle. Only in this way Abate Nero reaches its charm, a sparkling wine of golden color, extraordinary in the impact with the nose, with citrus notes that gradually give way to liquorice and bread just taken out of the wood–burning oven. Linear as well as energetic, flavory and mineral, with a creamy effervescence; surprising for the freshness of its acidic structure, which guarantee finesse, class and extra durability.
Cavit is a company deeply rooted in the region it belongs: Trentino. A small area of north–eastern Italy where the vine, olive trees and Mediterranean vegetation coexist with spruces and larches of the Alpine flora. A land of ancient traditions and culture, where the presence of man with villages, castles and cultivated terraces blends harmoniously with the majestic Alpine landscapes.
The image that best represents Cavit, a large cooperative composed of many small craft realities, that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and other plant parts play their role.
Founded in 1950 to meet the needs of the winemakers of the region to offer their wines of the highest quality and in a modern way, today represents more than 4,500 vinegrowers associated with 11 wineries and 60% of the wine production in Trentino (around 5,500 hectares). Cavit harvests, examines and selects its raw materials from the best produce of the social cooperatives members, which undergoes strict inspection at each stage: from fining to bottling.

Azienda Pojer e Sandri was founded in 1975 by the encounter of the young Fiorentino Sandri and Mario Pojer. The first had already inherited more or less 2 hectares of vineyards, the second had already graduated as oenologist at the prestigious school of oenology of San Michele all’Adige.
This happy union was made possible by the common will to produce highly valuable wine from the vineyards located between the Adige Valley and the Cembra Valley, precisely in the Faedo hill that, as many people say, had a limited vocation to vines.
The first wine produced was an extraordinary Palai Müller Turgau 75 of exceptional fragrance and fineness, followed by a Chardonnay and a native variety like Nosiola.
On the basis of an immediate success, the Company grows thanks to the purchasing of new soils and now has a surface grown with vines of 26 hectares, spread on 6 different municipalities: S. Michele and Faedo, more 4 municipalities of the Cembra Valley. The vineyards, located in the hill of S. Michele/Faedo, on a silty/calcareous soil with an altitude ranging from 250 to 750 meters above sea level, are involved in the cultivation of red grapes on the lowest part and white grape varieties at heights. The Cabernet variety, with Merlot and Legrein, form our Rosso Faye, the Top Wine of the Company.
Climbing the hill we meet progressively Nosiola, Traminer, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, to find, at an altitude of 700 m, in the Palai locality, the cultivation of Müller Thurgau.
Always at heights, we cultivate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with the precise aim to produce bubbles with the classic method in Extra Brut and Rosé Brut versions.
The old plants, 25/30 years old, allow us to aim high, from them Bianco Faye and Pinot Noir Rodel–Pianezzi are made. Fermentation and aging in mature wood.
In the Cembra Valley, in Valbona locality, in Maso Besleri, on very deep soils of volcanic origin (the famous porphyry) we have established a more developed concept, different from varietal wine: a cuvée of 5 white varieties for Besler Biank and 5 red grapes for Besler Ross, vinified in wood, plants of an age ranging from 3 to 20 years. For Biank, in particular, we use 60% acacia wood.
From the beginning, the Winery has been flanked by the Distillery, which was one of the firts to prduce, in Trentino, a single–variety Grappa. In 1982 the plant of the Distillery was replaced with a water bath distiller (Zadra model), ideal for a distillation of high quality, subsequently renewed in 1993.
Regarding distillates, the production includes Grappa, fruit acquavite and brandy. Those are all products that stem rigorously from locally sourced raw materials, mainly produced in the winery, such a vinasse, quince, black currant, elderberry, rowan, wine, and for the remaining fruits micro–zones of production where quality and aromatic characters are the best were identified.
The Brandy project started in 1986, after some study trips in France, in particular in the areas of Cognac and Armagnac. For the first time grapes are vinified, with the aim to produce a base wine to distillate and the choice is oriented on two local varieties: Schiava of the highest zones of the Faedo hill and Lagarino of high Cembra Valley. The project is ambitious and, of course, costly, given the maturation of distilled wine for ten years in barriques, but years pass quickly and quality grows year by year.
Then, in 1997, the first Divino acquavite, 1986 harvest, was launched on the market.
The most recent: MERLINO, obtained combining a partially fermented Lagrein must of 4/5 alcohol degrees with our brandy aged 15 years. An unexpected success: finally, an Italian wine to pair with chocolate!
Decided confirmations both in top wines and in all the other labels by the winery of Cortina. Elegance, strong mineral flavor, good character and constant quality are the points of strength that shine each year in the production of Peter Zemmer, a well articulated line of local wines in which only Chardonnay Reserve 2008 has resulted undertone, undoubtedly still young but a little too much dominated by the impression of the barrique, which is unlikely to drain completely. To highlight, the great varietal joy of the two Gewürztraminer.
The founder Wilhelm Walch would not have been able to know, in 1869, that this company could give good results up to the present and, above all, he would never have imagined to become part of one of the most beautiful and great wine realities in South Tyrol.
With great care and professionalism, Wilhelm Walch purchased a Jesuit monastery in the heart of Termeno, building a wine cellar, largely underground, where wines are still produced and kept.

In the shade of the great vinegrowing traditions, cutting edge techniques in the winery accompany wine making.
The visitor is surprised by the image of fascinating, huge inlaid oak Slavonian barrels, alternating to the traditional French oak barrels, contrast and history that make of the wine cellar one the most beautiful in the region.
The vinification takes into account the most modern techniques, with the conviction to minimize the oenological operations.
Tramin, Termeno, or the apotheosis of Gewürztraminer. Yet another confirmation of the wonderful pair consisting of Terminum Late Harvest and Nussbaumer, steel bulwarks of the interpretation of this variety of unmistakable aroma. The extraordinary mastery of Willi Stürz proves once again to be very skilful in bringing about the lavish wealth collected from these vineyards. General confirmations come from other labels, among which the well–harnessed power of Lagrein Urban and the aristocratic elegance of the Cabernet–Merlot Loam deserve a special highlight.
Beside the excellent quality of the wines of the Linticlarus line, in which you find the highest potential of the vineyards and the wine skills of the company, once again, the constant elegance of classic Feldmarschal von Fenner should be emphasized, from Müller Thurgau grapes grown in the wonderful Hofstatt farm, located on Mount Favogna: with its 1000 meters above sea level, the vineyard is located higher than the whole South Tyrol.

On the one hand, our winery offers tradition and culture, on the other hand, very modern winemaking techniques. The new stainless steel tanks at the old walls are the perfect symbol of the interaction between old and new within Cantina Produttori San Paolo. Art is in harmony.
In the winery of the cooperative, near the stainless steel tanks, we also find large wooden barrels and small barriques, because each vine needs the right environment to age. The area reserved for the barriques is a small jewel in the winery, where in oak barrels from France the most valuable wines age.
Not only great red wines, which here stay to age for months and years. There are also the great white wines of San Paolo, that in these barrels reach their peak of refinement and fullness. The results are important wines, with a perfect balance of fruity and woody notes.
The Rottensteiner family is firmly convinced that the the harmonious atmosphere of vineyards and wineries is reflected in the wine. The relationship with the vinegrowers, with the staff of the winery and with suppliers is very good. All year around 100 people work with care and diligence to preserve the quality of the grapes and produce an excellent wine: to make a great wine you need time.
In the middle of the vineyards, surrounded by mountain slopes, Caldaro is located, a place famous for excellent wines and seat of the Ritterhof winery, at nr.1 of the Wine Route.
This winery, small but run with great passion, is now property of the Roner family of Termeno.
The traditions handed down generation after generation and the harmony with nature in combination with the most modern winemaking technologies are the base of the production of fruity white wines and full–bodied red wines.
