It is a very small business reality in the Trentino wine scene, with its 4 hectares of vineyard. But the quality of the wine produced is inversely proportional to the size of the company. From suppliers to the Cooperative Winery of Mezzacorona to the choice of vinifying grapes on their own, in order to obtain admirably characterized wines, with a strong recognizability of the variety of departure. An applaud goes to the company as a whole for the remarkable kindness of all, absolutely all, the wines in production. Wines that are reliable, structured, perfumed, never banal.
Maso Cantanghel is a small but significant winemaking business in Trentino. It is located at the foot of the chain of Lagorai on the Trento hills. The environment is of medium–to–high hill (about 460 meters above sea level) where it is located, the nature of the soil and the favorable exposure combined with an optimal thermal situation, are natural elements that have allowed us to develop a high–quality viticulture.
This is combined with a rational winemaking technique, land development, the selection of clones and rootstocks, the type of farming, a scrupulous and careful winemaking technology.
Currently, the surface area cultivated with vines of Maso Cantanghel is of 5 hectares, the winery is set in an old Austrian fort of 1868 rich in charm and of undeniable historical interest. Built between 1868 and 1876 on the road of Valsugana, it was part of a fortified complex aimed to close the access to Trento from the east. In fact, it was a "tagliata" (road interruption) of the only way since the early years of the twentieth century. Here, the Altinate branch of the Roman road Claudia Augusta passed. It was renovated before World War I and later became a powder keg. Today it houses the cellar of the farm melting in it a centuries–old history and a great interest in the preservation of Trentino’s typicality.

Marco is the engine, the maker... the creator of grapes and wine. Rosanna cares about product presentation, the image of the bottles and of the company.
In the web pages we favored the personality of the wines from those described techniques, in effect we think that in the wine poem, soul and character have more value than technicalities.
Through our photos, finally, we wanted to share with you the countryside spirit of the lagarina area in different seasons.
Azienda Agricola Grigoletti was founded many decades ago by the love of great–grandfather Federico for wines of great quality, which the ancient peasant tradition of Trentino has been able to pass down through the centuries.
Over time grandfather Ampelio and now the winemakers Bruno, Aida, Carmelo and Marica, with passion and tenacity pursuit the noble art of farming to produce for you, for your wishes, wines capable of strong emotions that continue the story.
The wine is made exclusively in our country, after a heavy pruning of the vines, with loving care given to the grapes grown slowly in the sun, together with the numerous thinnings carried out during the season.
The right period for the harvest, together with the measured time of maturation of the wine in the cellar, have created a special nectar which has costed us a lot of trouble, but that we present you with pride.
In Trentino, in a country by a name full of poetry and of an ancient past, Rover della Luna, near Mount Gaier, immersed in the vineyards, the Gaierhof company operates selecting the best grapes to make wine and produce great wine, the fruit of knowledge about wine, technology and passion.
Gaierhof is the story of three generations of the Togn family, which began in 1943 with Germano Togn, father of Luigi, who drives the company today flanked by his three daughters, Romina, Martina, Valentina and son Goffredo Pasolli.
This winemaking vocation has deep roots in Trentino winery traditions and in the expertise that has been handed down from father to son, getting richer each time, starting with the first grape–grower in the Togn family.
Experience, experimentation, leading–edge production equipment, ongoing and painstaking care for quality: these are the key factor behind Gaierhof’s success in penetrating and succeeding in all markets. Today the Gaierhof Estate is a synonym for completeness and maturity.
Enthusiasm and tradition live together, exalted by high–tech know–how that sizes all the opportunities offered by innovation. In fact, Luigi Togn was one of the first in the Trentino Region to import horizontal presses after seeing them during one of his many travels to great winegrowing nations. Today these presses are held to be priceless in their ability to give greater balance to must. Leading–edge technologies, constant research and select yeasts aim at further increasing the quality and prestige of these already important wines.
The small village of Pressano is situated on a sunny and airy hillside, just north of Lavis, surrounded by a beautiful expanse of vineyards.
In a rural residence of the seventeenth century, in the historical center of the village, my father Giuseppe began to take his first steps in his activity of winemaker, owning a small plot of land and using the cellars of our house.
Since 1991, I am, Alessandro, to look after the care of the vines and winemaking.
After their studies at the Agricultural Institute of San Michele, I worked to exploit the limited resources at my disposal, with the aim to transform the small size of the company in my point of strength.
In the countryside, I recovered the art of the farmer, re–evaluating old farming practices, fundamental to improve the quality of grapes and wine.
In the winery I vinify white grapes of Incrocio Manzoni, Nosiola, Chardonnay, and red grapes of Teroldego, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, with expert workmanship and long waits from fermentation to fining in the bottle.
Taking care personally of the countryside and of the wine cellar, allows me to blend tradition with modern oenological knowledge. In this way, authentic wines of character, texture, fragrance, freshness and vitality are created, which can express the typicality of their land of origin: Trentino.
Established winegrowers, in business already in 1751, when wine was a relief from an effort that seemed hopeless. Good years, encouraging stimuli, giving "time to time". Interpreting the climate – vines disposed in the sun, the wind that blows from Lake Garda and that ideally connects remote areas: the low Sarca with the hills of Pressano di Lavis, a breeze tamed by the Brenta Dolomites and the Paganella – and adapting the territory. Where now the new generations of the Cesconi family work with renewed enthusiasm. Respecting the character of our ancestors.
Here, then, there are the vineyards adjacent to the new winery, on a slope projected into the Cembra Valley, orderly and accurate rows, embedded in the protected landscape typical of Paganella, the mountain symbol of a highly suited to vine Trentino region. And then – in respect of individual environmental peculiarities and agronomic choices made by the family – the vine rows of the estate of Drò, in the Valley of Lakes, are mitigated by the nearby Lake Garda and are ideally united to Pressano by the healing power of the Ora: the afternoon wind that rises from the shores of Lake Garda.
Two zones, different, are deliberately cultivated to produce equally diverse wines. The white grape varieties are planted only on the slopes at high altitude, lands raised by atavistic confluences between the rivers Adige and Avisio. And the vines reserved to long–lived red wines, deep–rooted in clay plants, silt and sand of glaciations linked to Lake Garda.
Two wine realities that are so different as to be unique.
As unique is the passion for winemaking of the Cesconi family.
From Parma, where they participated in the government of the Duchy, the Cesarini Sforza family moved two centuries ago in the Bishop Principality of Trento, when a family member became Podestà and assumed the leadership of the city.
At that time the noble families like Cesarini Sforza took on the merits, and it was natural in an economy based on agriculture as the one of Trentino, to have vineyards of great value in which to produce quality wines.
Picking up this ancient legacy, a group of skilled entrepreneurs in the wine sector founded in 1974 Azienda Spumantistica Cesarini Sforza, with the goal of producing high quality sparkling wines that would impress not only the consumers of Trentino, but also the national scene.
In a few years Cesarini Sforza has known how to find a precise location in the national and international markets of sparkling wines, with products of absolute prestige.
The Monfort wineries is a company founded in 1945 by Giovanni Simoni, grandfather of Lorenzo, the current manager, based in Lavis, a beautiful town north of Trento, always at the center of wine production in Trentino. The winery is situated in one of the most characteristic frames of the old town of Lavis: Monfort palace, formerly the residence of Counts De Melchiori. Here, our quality wines are produced, the fruit of an experience of winemakers of Trentino grapes, under the supervision of expert oenologists.
The grapes for the wines of Cantine Monfort come from vineyards with the best exposure to the Cembra Valley and the hills above Lavis and Trento, partly owned and partly of winemakers that are carefully chosen for the high quality of their products and is strictly followed in all stages of cultivation by the experts of the Monfort wineries.
The knowledge, care and love for wines have rewarded the Monfort wineries with several reports on Italian and German specialized journals and numerous awards at international level, among which, the "Mark of the Brotherhood" of Trento, the "International Competition at Expo"of Milan, the " Vinitaly International Wine Competition", the Wine Master of Estoril (P) and the International Wine Challenge in London. Today, the company is present on domestic and foreign markets, constantly developing and after the acquisition of new vineyards, looks to the future with the confidence of those who daily renews passion for wine and its own land.
In 1907, when the Trentino region still underlay the Hapsburg Empire, in Isera the namesake cooperative winery was constituted. Founded by the will of the winegrowers in the area, the D'Isera Winery already collected precious grapes of the basaltic hills of Isera, first of all those of Marzemino. Today, over 200 members, on an area of 230 hectares, give each vintage an average of 25,000 quintals of selected and valuable grapes. Good wine is made in the countryside: this is one of the maxims to which the D'Isera Winery adheres firmly.
From the choice of the new plants to the systematic control of the whole cycle of vegetation, all followed and strictly controlled in order to obtain a healthy and high quality wine production. Under the guidance of expert winemakers, the D'Isera Winery gives its excellent wine grapes supplied by the members, expertly balancing the benefits of new technologies and the wisdom of ancient traditions.
Quality does not accept compromises, represents for D'Isera Winery an imperative, a commitment to the consumer and the guarantee of being able to enjoy, appreciate and love the wines created from the passion of men and from the generosity of the hill of Isera.
Our winery was founded in 1990. Until the beginning we focused almost exclusively on the art of the production of classic method sparkling wine.

For us it is important that each bottle reflects the winery in which it was produced and that the attention with which we treat the healthiness of the vineyard, is the same that we put in the protection of our environment of everyday life.
The attention to detail is the result of a valuable work of the group, where the presence of Andrea Cristelloni in the vineyard and of Matteo Ferrari in the cellar, are an integral part of our exciting project. Our signature is, therefore, a concrete reality in every single Maso Martis bottle.
Founded in 1931, the Rotaliana Winery of Mezzolombardo is an interesting social reality which, in its history, has known how to develop and renovate constantly thanks to a perfect combination of innovation and tradition.
The decision to combine the old and the new is proved to be a winning choice that till today inspires the corporate culture of the cellar; a culture that credits great value to the origins of the wine and its history, but at the same time looks to the future.
The Vineyard of production of the Rotaliana Winery of Mezzolombardo, which represents for Trentino the Teroldego house, is located largely in Piana Rotaliana. Crossing this area to reach the ski slopes of the near plateau of the Paganella or to spend a few days in the Brenta Dolomites, surrounded by forests and alpine lakes, do not miss the opportunity to know the Teroldego Rotaliano, its land and its people, bound together by a unbreakable bond.
The Pacherhof Estate, dating back to 1142 and run by the Huber family, is located in Novacella, a little bit over Bressanone where, on a surface of 8 hectares, the oenologist Andreas Huber cultivates excellent white grapes, which presses in the winery of property of the farm, to sell them personally, after.
Vineyards located in the best positions, gravel soils rich in minerals and special microclimates, are the natural potential of Pacherhof. The peculiarities of this area and the desire of Andreas Huber, the owner’s son, of pursuiting without compromise the best quality, are the secret of these refined and of character white wines.
The Huber family presses grapes in his basement, where the clusters are gently pressed and then are carefully kept in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks, becoming the nectar of the gods. Before being sold, these noble drops rest, up to ten months, in oak barrels, and for more months in the bottle.
The Nals Margreid Winery presents itself to those who observe it as a bunch of grapes, formed by countless tasty berries.
In the small winery, craft oriented, a crystal clear variety of exposures of vineyards, land, vines and microclimates come together in a harmonious whole. The natural complexity of the Nals Margreid Winery is reflected in wines rich in character and peculiarities.
Wines that summarize in themselves the best that the different areas that the South Tyrolean wine production can offer.
We have been vinifying grapes owned by us since 1880, the year in which the foundations of the current company were laid, which is passed down through seven generations to the eldest son Franz Haas.
The winemaking company, over the years, thanks to the constant efforts of its owners and employees, got the actual configuration.
We work the grapes from 50 hectares of which 28 hectares are of property and rent the remaining hectares are of agricultural producers with vineyards in particularly suited microzones.
Our goal is to be able to present quality wines, with characteristics of longevity, personality and typicality.
