Accornero Giulio & Figli

Vineyard owners for four generations, the Accornero family continues with the same passion and the same commitment of great–grandfather Bartolomeo in producing high quality wines.

Bartolomeo Accornero, who was born in 1839, and his wife Giuseppina Lasagna, already owners of a small farm adjacent to the existing property, had five children: in addition to the conduct of their lands, Bartolomeo, assisted by his son Giuseppe, took care in quality of agricultural tertiary of the estate of the Palace of the Callori Counts (now seat of Enoteca Regionale of Vignale Monferrato).

The result of many years of hard work and savings was the purchase, in 1897, of Cascina Ca’ Cima, from the noble knight Negri. Then, the generation continues with Giovanni Battista Angelo Accornero, son of Giuseppe, who married Alfonsina Coppo. From this union, Giulio Accornero was born, the current owner with his wife Mariuccia and their children Ermanno and Massimo.

Paride Iaretti

Paride Iaretti is no longer a surprise, at least for those who follow us regularly, undoubtedly one of the best producers of "Coste della Sesia", that area between Biella and Vercelli, whose spearhead is the town of Gattinara. This small but crucial producer, who inherited the passion of father Pietro, is proving year after year to have undertaken an ideal path, employing in the best way that the tradition handed down to him and adding his experience and knowledge, to make a series of products that are really excellent.

The diamond tips are, of course, Gattinara Pietro and Gattinara Reserve, two very distinct and recognizable wines: the first evolves in barrels for 36 months and is able to offer itself in the most firm and balanced way in a relatively short time, and therefore it has been on the market since 2007. The second, however, rests for the same period in oak barrels of medium size, follows a more traditional processing and, rightly, ages in the winery until Paride considers it ready to be put on the market: this explains why, currently, the 2004 vintage is for sale. They are two great wines that express very well the character of the land and that of Nebbiolo.

But the quality always remains very high even for other types, such as Coste della Sesia Velut Luna 2009, a single–variety Nebbiolo of great balance, compelling to drink, and Uvenere of the same vintage (indicated with MMIX, being a table wine, since the DOC Coste della Sesia requires a minimum presence of 50% of Nebbiolo), a blend of Nebbiolo and local grape varieties like Vespolina, Croatina and Bonarda. This latter is right the symbol of pure enjoyment, a perfect companion at the table, with an absolutely inviting price.

Il Colombo

The Montezemolo family owned many estates, among which an ancient palace in the upper part of the city of Mondovì, called Mondovì Piazza, is still belonging to them. The estate, called IL COLOMBO, was built in the eighteenth century and later enlarged. By the middle of the nineteenth century, the high tower in Gothic Revival style was built, and at the end of the same, the gate on the square in front of the palace. The Chapel, which perhaps was originally a small independent church, is currently a construction of the beginning of the nineteenth century, showing on its front a more ancient emblem made of stone that depicts the coat of arms of Montezemolo.

The family of Baron Riccati bought the property from the same in 1989, restoring the home, the victim of a long abandon, reactivating and expanding the vineyard and building a winery to produce a Dolcetto, a wine typical of these hills, now much quoted in the industry press, national or international.

In 2006, its property passed to a married couple of Norwegian origin, named Britt and Theo Holm in Oslo, who continued to use the property while maintaining the character of a holiday home. The few renovations are made with the utmost respect and wine production, as well as the care of the vineyards was entrusted, on the advice of the same Carlo Riccati, to Sabina Bosio and Bruno Chionetti, friends with whom he shared a part of the company’s progress, act to enhance the Dolcetto grape variety, which dominates on this hill, in a landscape that has not changed for three centuries. Sabina, after years spent helping her husband, who is leading an important company in Dogliani, develops a work experience and a remarkable maturity, both at the level of the winery, and in vinification, followed not only by her husband, but also by the oenologist Beppe Caviola, who in the work in the countryside has had excellent teachers, the agronomist Gian Piero Romana first and Massimo Pinna later.

This team provides an excellent final result, in our opinion, that reflects in every way the hills where our wines are created. Hills where there is still biodiversity, that allows us to work in a natural and non–invasive way our vineyards. Not by chance, we are concluding the bureaucratic process for the classification of organic wine, to give the final consumer all the guarantees and the naturalness and genuineness that only an area like ours can give.

Centovigne

We are in a small area of High Piedmont, at the foot of Monte Rosa, we have Alps that protect our shoulders and a view as far as the eye can see towards the Po Valley. A territory where, among many others, the Nebbiolo grape variety has found its place before it went to seek its fortune in other areas of Piedmont. For us, this grape, locally called Spanna, along with Vespolina, Croatina, Uva Rara, wrote a history of wine since the eighteenth century.

A tradition and a culture that have been eroded with the rapid development of the textile industry in Biella in the twentieth century.

The company is based in the Castle of Castellengo and its wines rest in the old wine cellar of the manor.

Giacomo Borgogno e Figli

The name Borgogno is tied to one of the oldest wineries in Piedmont: it was founded in 1761 with Bartolomeo Borgogno. In 1848 it became the supplier of the College for the sons of the officers of the Racconigi Savoy Army with the first written document on legal paper, still jealously preserved, demonstrating the company’s activity, and that will have a crucial importance in recent history. Since then, the high quality of the products offered, which makes the name Borgogno increasingly known and appreciated. A proof of this is the choice of its Barolo, in 1861, for an official lunch of celebration of the Unity of Italy, and in 1886 for the banquet in honor of Nicholas II Romanov Tsar of all the Russias, host of the Savoy, on an official visit to the Castle of Racconigi.



The 20s

At the beginning of the 20s, under the direction of Cesare Borgogno, the Borgogno wine sales started to expand also beyond national borders; but at the end of the Second World War there was the real development with the acquisition of some of the most important overseas markets, such as Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and, especially, the United States of America, and with a further consolidation of its position in Europe.



From the 50s to today

After the complete renovation of the wineries, which took place between 1954 and 1959, Cesare Borgogno started in 1967 a new program of transformation in the arrangement of the Company, that took the current name of Giacomo Borgnogno & Sons. On the death of Cesare Borgogno, the management passed to his grandchildren Ida and Franco Boschis (and subsequently to their children Cesare and Giorgio), until then their good collaborators. Today, the Giacomo Borgogno & Sons is an evolved company that, thanks to a centuries–old experience, combines tradition and technological innovation in a good relationship, enough to ensure the consistent achievement of a high quality in their products.



In 2008, the Borgogno Giacomo & Sons was acquired by the Farinetti family, that ended in 2009 a noteworthy renovation of the main building.

Brezza Giacomo & Figli

The Brezza farm, owner of vineyards in Barolo since 1885, is located a few steps from the center of the small municipality of Barolo, surrounded by greenery like the adjacent restaurant and hotel, owned by the family, too.

The management of the company covers a surface of 22 hectares of land, 16.5 of which are vineyards, and wines are all DOCG (Designation of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) and DOC (Designation of Controlled Origin).

Bruno Giacosa

A simple story that talks about native vineyards of Langa and Roero, of well cultivated vines, of vinifications in single–variety, of great barrels and unforgettable "Reserves", but also wines of mediocre vintages, that for coherent choice will not be bottled.


An experience that expresses seriousness and passion, in respect of our product, its lovers and this beautiful land where we were born and raised.


The Falletto Farm has 20 hectares of owned vineyards in the district of Serralunga d’Alba, La Morra and Barbaresco. It is the implementation of a highly wanted project for the complete control of the production process, that was concluded with the vinification and the fining of our wineries in Neive.


Part of our vineyards, moreover, is produced with grapes bought by our traditional suppliers, owners of vineyards particularly suited, and commercialized with the "Bruno Giacosa" label.

Ca del Baio

A great love for the land and the hard work of four generations have made Ca’ del Baio arise and grow, together with the results of its success. The first to make wine was Luigi Grasso, followed by Giulio, the president, who, with his wife Luciana, prepared the future: their daughters Paola, Valentina and Federica.

Azienda Agricola Ca’ del Baio is located in Treiso, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Langhe of Alba.

Le Piane

At the beginning of the 90s, during a visit to this region, Alexander Trolf, oenologist, and me, wine importer, were impressed by the beauty of the landscape, nestled in the woods of the Natural Park of Monte Fenera and for the quality of its wines. Convinced that this area was the perfect place to be a wine company, we started to work immediately. In this way, we met Antonio Cerri, one of the last producers of typical and very interesting wines that, until 1991, was producing 25 hectoliters per year. His vineyard in "Campo delle Piane", 0.6 hectares of Spanna of more than 50 years of age, are located high up in the hills, surrounded by woods.

At the time–honoured age of 80 years, Antonio Cerri decided to retire and offered his vineyard and winery to Alexander Trolf and me.

We bought it.

Later, like a puzzle, we added other small plots of land, up to the current 6.5 hectares, grown with Nebbiolo and Vespolina, for the production of BOCA DOC.

Unfortunately, a tragic car accident prevented Alexander Trolf from seeing the realization of his plans, but his ideas and his dreams live in the new vineyard "Meridiana", and the yellow house, the company logo, located in the middle of the vineyard, symbolizes a new beginning.

Giovanni Manzone

Manzone Giovanni is a family-run winery that focuses on producing high-quality wines using traditional winemaking techniques. The winery's vineyards are carefully tended by hand, ensuring only the best grapes are used for their wines. They specialize in the production of Barolo, a revered Italian wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, as well as other red and white wines. With a commitment to sustainability and a passion for winemaking, Manzone Giovanni's wines are known for their complexity, elegance, and finesse.

Massolino

The winery: the Massolino family has been producing wine in Serralunga d’Alba since 1896: four generations and 20 hectares of vineyard. The founder, Giovanni Massolino, had the intuition and tenacity to stop selling his grapes to the cooperative winery and started making wine on his own.

Three of his six children: Giuseppe, Camilla and Renato, continued their journey buying vineyards among the best cru of Serralunga: Margheria, Parafada and Vigna Rionda.

Starting in the 90s Franco and Roberto, sons of Giuseppe, joined the company. The company today is lead focusing on research and experimentation, always with respect for tradition.
