Goodness, simplicity and recognizability, product and territory as sincere identity in the bottle. This is the message we want to give with the image of the wines of Ca’ Lustra, since the company’s foundation. And to emphasize this roots in tradition, the current labels of the "basic" line will be back, this year, to be more adherent to the original ones of the 80s and 90s.
The "high" line of our production is more recent, instead. After the first vineyard selections of the 90s, that already reported the "Zanovello" name, in 2002 they began with a growing range of wines produced from special and dedicated grapes and vineyards. Research, experiences, need of comparison and of progress: we continue to leave traces of our work in a journey that began 3,000 years ago by the ancient Venetians and the labels of the line that is currently going back to the "Zanovello" name trying just to give a meaning to this encounter between the current sign and the oldest Venetian spelling.
Sweet wines are an ancient tradition in the Euganean Hills. If Moscato Bianco was already present since Roman times, the Venetians of the maritime republic, right lovers of sweet wines, brought back from their travels in the Mediterranean Sea an amount of aromatic and sweet varieties. And these hills that were already at that time the most coveted place of summer residence began also to accommodate varieties such as Fior d’Arancio, Malvasia, Marzemino, red Moscato ... We produce four different types of dessert wine suitable for the most diverse needs.
For all those who love good wine, the Venetian hinterland of the Euganean Hills offers a wide range of proposals for quality. Talking about Borin, the association is almost automatic. Merit of the serious professionalism with which the owners have been able to re–read the peasant tradition associating it to a processing with low environmental impact and a careful use of the best technology. New innovative strength with the involvement of the two sons.
Merotto is a family–owned winery founded over 100 years ago. It is located in Col San Martino (Treviso) in the heart of the production area of the "Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore", on the slopes of the Venetian Prealps halfway between Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo, the famous queen of the Dolomites.
The work of three generations has led to the current enterprise configuration. The storage and processing cellar is underground and constantly at natural low temperature, the ideal environment for proper storage. The production structure, the reception room and offices are immersed in the greenery and surrounded by the hilly vineyards of Prosecco, witnesses of the tradition and the history of the company, that has always been devoted to viticulture.
In the early twentieth century, Agostino Merotto was already known for his Prosecco, but the most relevant company developments took place in the second half of the latest century by the will of his grandson and current owner. In the 80s, effectively, his grandson Graziano took over the family business. He bought the hilly area where a new winery was built equipping it with the best systems for the production of –Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore".
In 2001, with the entrance in the company of Michele, son of Amedeo, who gives continuity to the fourth generation of vinegrowers, the Tessari family took the decision, financially challenging but far–sighted, to build a wider and equipped with cutting edge facilities winery, along the road of Val d’Alpone. In the same year, the Tessari family decided to extend its experience in the near Valpolicella, purchasing vines on the hilly area of Montecchia di Crosara.
The new winery was inaugurated in September 2002, and was founded on the dynamic improvement of “Ca Rugate” which took place the latest decade. The entrance of Michele brought entrepreneurial liveliness, which allowed to make the company grow and establish itself from the quality and organization points of view. In these years, the most important growth in vine cultivation in the Tessari family’s vineyards took place. From 2002 to 2011 about 40 hectares were bought, in the most suited areas of the municipalities of Monteforte D’Alpone and Montecchia di Crosara, that added themselves to the current vinegrowing surface of 60 hectares. This strategic structural growth was supported by a widespread distribution of wines, that cross, nowadays, 97 provinces in Italy and 25 international borders.
Through a strong bond with the historical and cultural tradition, ancient and modern, and with the territory from which it obtains its wines, Azienda Zenato is the mouthpiece of a message of quality, dedication and simplicity linked to a continuous research of technological innovation, of improvement, given by enthusiasm and constant commitment.
Passion, work, and results make us aware that we have contributed to the development and to the most recent rediscovery of Lugana, of which we are proud ambassadors. To this strong identity with our territory we have linked ability and entrepreneurial foresight, investing even on the near Valpolicella. The company, that was founded in 1980, can boast of being a pioneer in planting high–density vineyards on the Euganean Hills, and ownes about 55 acres scattered throughout the hilly area.
Since 1994, Vignalta vinifies in the new winery of Arquà Petrarca, completely carved into the rock that allows an optimal wine aging in oak barrels. The current owners of the Vignalta agricultural company are Lucio Gomiero, Graziano Cardin, Luciano Salvagnin and Mario Guzzo, who take advantage of the advice of the agronomist Filippo Scortegagna for the management of the vineyards and of the cellarman Michele Montecchio, who follows the vinification in the cellar.
The Azienda agricola Trabucchi winery is a family-owned business that is dedicated to producing high-quality wines using traditional methods. They prioritize sustainable agriculture, with all of their grapes being hand-harvested and fermented in small batches. At the gates of Verona, on the hills in the municipality of San Martino Buon Albergo, Tenuta Musella rises, one of the most beautiful and unitary landscaped complexes of the Veneto region. Musella, full of woods, waterways, vineyards and olive groves, ancient courtyards, churches, cottages and farmhouses, roads and trails, is a sort of ancient, completely fenced natural park, in which many animal species and rare plants live untouched.
At the center of the large centuries–old park, the estate is home to a large seventeenth–century aristocratic villa; the oldest sources make the first news of the noble Muselli family, the first owner of the estate, date back to the sixteenth–century, but you will have to wait until the second half of the nineteent century to know about the winemaking tradition of this area, begun by the inspired and passionate Cesare Trezza di Musella. Since 1990 the estate loses its original unitarity and in 1995 Azienda Agricola Muselli acquires the vineyards and part of the structures that are then adapted to winery and farm.
The ancient winemaking tradition and the particular vocation of the land have allowed us to recover with confidence this wine reality to carry it forward with dedication, professionalism and constant technological and high quality update.
Agricola Ca' la Bionda is a family-run winery that produces high-quality wines using organic and sustainable practices. They combine traditional winemaking techniques with modern technology to create unique and expressive wines that reflect the terroir of their vineyards. In an old mill, located close to the bridge that crossing river Piave unites the Treviso plain to Valdobbiadene, there is the Ponte Vecchio Winery, founded in 1979 by Floriano Curto.
Ponte Vecchio is called today the locality where the first bridge to cross the river Piave was built, which was once crossed by a bridge of boats, replaced in 1871 by a large wooden cross. The wooden structures was begun in 1871 and was completed in 1876. Unfortunately, at the end of the nineteenth century was destroyed several times due to the frequent flooding of river Piave, and was finally demolished in 1912.
In 1911 another large stone bridge was inaugurated, but unfortunately its life was short. It was mined by the Italian soldiers on the run after the defeat of Caporetto, was destroyed to prevent the Austrians to go beyond the defensive line that stood on river Piave. In ancient times the "ford of Vidor on the Piave" was a crossing point of great historical and social importance. The construction of the bridge of Vidor on Piave had far–reaching economic consequences for the entire region.
Just crossed the Piave, we find the Ponte Vecchio farm, that is also home to the eponymous winery surrounded by a series of hills where luxuriant vines grow and, in the background, Mount Cesen overlooks the Treviso Alps. In this way, we are surrounded by a particular and suggestive territory for the beauty of its rural landscape, rich in history and traditions, where generations of men with intelligence and hard work have been able to establish a wine that today has a clear identity: "Valdobbiadene Spumante DOCG", recognized and certified by the designation of controlled and guaranteed origin, which represents the pride of the company’s production together with other selected wines, to satisfy the palates of our customers.
The grapes come partly from vineyards owned by the company and partly are purchased by the holder, a wine expert, who carefully selects them out of the best wine production of the Valdobbiadene area, where vines have always been cultivated. The marketing aims mainly to private individuals or at the retail outlet or with direct distribution, while a part of it can be tasted at wine bars and restaurants.
The company is completely family owned. The owner is Daniele Bressan, an oenologist graduated at the University of Udine. His parents, grandfather and two brothers, contribute to the progress of the work in the farm.
Around 1920, the great–grandfather of the Bressan family began producing Prosecco, which in those days was mostly sold in bulk. Then, over the generations, and with the evolution of the market demand, the company focused on the bottling of the most of the product.
The corporate seat is located right in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, the town called "Costa d’Oro", given the continuous succession of hills with gentle slopes, worked with commitment, and covered with vines that climb even in the most strange and unthinkable places, from which the most popular wine comes: Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG.
The winery is located at the foot of the famous hills and can be easily reached following the indicating signs.
