Along the Musone valley from the sea to the inland, leaving behind, built on the hills that line it, before Loreto, with the majestic dome of its basilica, then the strongholds of Castelfidardo and Osimo, you reach the village of Casenuove; taking the gravel road in front of the old bishop’s palace you step into our company: on top on the right corner there is a vineyard, clinging to the southern slope of the "Monte Torto" hill, right above the archaeological site of "Monte Torto di Casenuove" where a production plant of the Roman period (I century BC - II century AD) for the processing of grapes and olives was brought to light; a little further down on the left there is the cellar, obtained in charming barrel vault rooms of the old "Casone", a residence and agricultural center of the vast "Tenuta di Monte Torto" estate, owned by the bishops of Osimo, from the medieval period until 1861, then farmhouse with sharecropping care until recent years.
The name of our wines is linked to the history of the territory in which they are made: during the sharecropping period the owner had divided his possessions in various agricultural funds with attached farmhouse and had entrusted the management families; each fund was identified by a name: Casone, Monte Torto, Monticello etc. This economic organization no longer exists, but the landscape and farming architecture of this land bear traces of it and those names are still alive today in our labels.
From this natural, cultural, historical and social heritage and from human labor our products are created: grapes are those of the adjacent to the winery vineyards: 6.3 hectares in total, 4 of Montepulciano, 1 of Merlot, 1 of Fiano and 0.3 of Incrocio Manzoni.
As for wines, it is up to you to judge them; come and visit us: on the occasion, in addition to taste our products, you can visit the winery and the archaeological site; we are open all year round, on Fridays from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:00 am and from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
Montecappone company was founded in the late 60s in Jesi. In 1997 the company was taken over entirely by the Bomprezzi – Mirizzi family and simultaneously the works of renovation and expansion of the existing winery and vineyards renewal plan began. The Bomprezzi – Mirizzi family made of wine a real passion. They began as "vintners" in Rome in 1954 and now directly manage their wine store: one of the most qualified wine stores in the capital.
Montecappone currently has over 70 hectares of vineyards, which stretch across the hills and castles around Jesi.
The business vocation is to enhance in the best way native grape varieties and particularly Verdicchio, Montepulciano and Sangiovese.
A careful selection of the grapes on the vines, low yields per hectare, experimentation in the vineyard and in the wine cellar, technical input of professionals and serious preparations combined with that "passion for wine" that has always been part of the family: these are the essential elements that distinguish our wines.
The company is situated in the Municipality of San Paolo di Jesi (AN), in Contrada San Nicolò, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The town is located in the middle of the area of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, an area particularly suited to the production of grapes, with the highest percentage of vineyards in all Municipalities of the Castelli di Jesi area.
Founded in 1956 by Mario Brunori, immediately joined by his son Giorgio, now the grandchildren Carlo and Cristina manage the company, who inherited from their grandfather not only his vast experience in the field of viticulture, but also his deep interest in the knowledge and the application of modern winemaking techniques.
Both sommeliers, Carlo and Cristina have been able to calibrate tradition and experimentation, traditional farming techniques and modern working tools in the service of the incessant pursuit of excellence.
Over the years, in effect, the Brunori company has grown and modernized without abandoning its traditional family atmosphere that allows it to personally take care of the entire production cycle: from the cultivation of the vineyard to the wine making, from the vinification process to bottling and subsequent marketing.
IMT was founded in 1999 and now can count on 1,200 vinegrowers partners of the Province of Ancona, Macerata, Pesaro–Urbino, which represent more than 90% of the Marche wine exported through more or less 200 bottlers.
IMT represents 45% of the surface of the Region grown with vines with more or less 9,000 hectares out of a total of 20,000 hectares that compose the Marche vineyard. The 9,000 hectares of vineyards represented in IMT are made of 50% of DOC and DOCG, and the remaining 50% of IGT vineyards gathered in the MARCHE geographical indication. The DOC – DOCG designations are 16, of which 4 are DOCG.
The whole vineyard park has been completely renovated over the last decade of the latest century, so the wine–growing division that IMT represents is modern, quality–oriented and focusing on results of excellence. Viticulture deals exclusively with hillsides facing south and contributes to the characterization of a landscape that expresses the very high vocation both of the soil and climate environment and of the human component that has moved into the modern vineyard management the ancient farmers’ wisdom, result of the observations and of the experience in the field and established with the succeeding of many generations.
Viticulture, in these three provinces of the Marche region, brought a radical change that after world war II onwards has seen the countryside depopulated in favor of craftmanship, of small and medium industries and recently of services. Only viticulture has been able to secure an income for those who, for passion, for lifestyle choice, has decided to tie its future to the ground, giving up with the proclamations and the advantages of living in the city.
