The company was founded in late 2000 and is located between Cortona and Montepulciano in the hills that face the village. The soil structure is made of tuff with small parts of clay that outcrop in the highest areas. The exposure of the vineyards, to the south and west, allows a perfect ripening of the grapes. The 11–hectare vineyard, with 6,000 vines per hectare in the most recent plots and 4,000 in the eldest ones, presents different varieties: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Trebbiano and Malvasia.
The vocation of Azienda Agricola IL GREPPO is not limited to an attentive selection in the vineyard but pursuits a production that, in the absolute respect of the quality of the product, make the product uniwue for its elegance and charm.
The proper use of technology, in the service of tradition, is evident in the aging cellars where large barrels (from 25 to 100 hl) and oak barrels masterfully contribute to the aging of the best selections of Sangiovese grapes used for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano and Chianti.

In Salcheto we try to respect this relationship on a daily basis, while maintaining a balance with nature, through agricultural practices and processes of sustainable transformation in the wine cellar. This approach includes non–invasive methods of cultivation of biodynamic and organic types, as well as the continued protection of water and energy resources.
In substance, our goal is to work in respect of the environment to create the ultimate expression of quality and authenticity in our wines. In this spirit, we hope to bring romance and passion to the science of producing good wine, weaving deep–rooted traditions with modern technologies. This is the challenge of a lifetime, like ours, that we want to take very seriously, or at least as serious as passionate young winemakers could do.
And putting the wine aside just for a moment, we would like to shed light on the history of Salco, our most important vineyard that has become a label. The term, in the ancient Tuscan language, means “willow”, while Salcheto is the name of the creek that runs through our land. Along its course, once a large number of willow trees grew, whose branches were used to tie the vines. We have started to replant willows in areas of the estate are not suitable for viticulture and we will use their wood to warm up, with the intent to create an eco–friendly system within the company that is 100% energy independent.
Boscarelli Estates are located in a historical zone of the DOCG Vino Nobile: Cervognano.
300 m above sea level, on the south–eastern side of Montepulciano, looking at Valdichiana, it enjoys an excellent ventilation heat, which favours a microclimate highly suited to quality viticulture.
The soils have alluvial origins, are stony and sandy, allow good drainage and provide high elegance to grapes.
This has always motivated the family in engaging with commitment to the pursuit of quality that these factors allow to achieve.
The extreme attention in viticulture and in the vineyard’s management has led – with gradual replantings started at the end of the 80s – to a density of vines around 6,000/7,000 plants per hectare.
The yield per plant is of about 1.3 kg of grapes.
The Poliziano farm, founded in 1961 from a core group of 22 hectares, over the years has grown to reach its present size of 120 hectares, all planted with vines. Its name is a homage to the humanist poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454–1494), called the "Poliziano", who was born in Montepulciano. The farm is located near the village of Montepulciano and the vineyards are mainly located on the southern coasts that from Montepulciano decline towards the east in the direction of Valiano.
The wine cellars, where the delicate operations of vinification, maturation and aging of wines take place, are cared to the smallest detail and show the story of the company in its fifty–year journey.
The della Seta Ferrari Corbelli family owns the estate from mid 1900. The farm of about 70 hectares surrounds Villa Svetoni and its beautiful Italian garden, both built around the early years of 1800. The vine yards are located upon loamy and clayey soil on the Gracciano hills, historical cru of Montepulciano. The estate also is an historical entity in Montepulciano: in fact in 1864 the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano of cantine Svetoni (now Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta) won a prize at the international fair of Torino and several bottles of these very old vintages are still kept in the cellars of the estate.
In the 60s Egisto Natalini, together with his son Giuliano, decided to vinify the grapes from their own vineyards, starting a family production aimed at enhancing the tradition of Tuscan wine. Since 1995 also the son of Giuliano, Andrea, agricultural expert, has begun to work in the company following the making of wine, flanked by Paolo Vagaggini, a known winemaker, with which the family is planning the improvement of all activities of agricultural testing and the refinement of the techniques of winemaking.
