The Italy–France axis is part of the story of Gillardi: Giovanni Battista emigrated from Piedmont to Provence in late 1890. Here a trade in wine began, but his great attachment to the land of origin brought him to the Langhe, where he started to produce Dolcetto grapes.

The turning point was in 1923, with the purchase of Cascina Corsaletto. Here, his son Giacomo continued the work of study on a magic land for soil, exposure and position.

Only in 1980, Giovanni Battista, son of Giacomo, with the young Giacolino, oenologist at the school of Alba, began the production in the bottle.
