Vercesi del Castellazzo

The Azienda Agricola Vercesi del Castellazzo is located on the slopes of the "Oltrepò Pavese" hills, in the municipality of Montù Beccaria. The winery occupies the manor house, a charming historic building erected on the very spot where, before the 12th century, there was a castle owned by the Beccaria family, a noble family from Pavia.
Despite its imposing appearance the castle, which dominates the small village of Montù, features no towers, battlements, arcade porches, corbels, or open galleries with gothic-style four-light windows. However, the ancient medieval building, which has undergone major transformations over the centuries and lies on a natural terraced property surrounded by gentle hillsides entirely covered with vineyards, bears testimony to a long-standing wine-growing tradition.

Castello di Cigognola

The Castello di Cigognola company stands among the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese,
brembraced by Piedmont and Emilia, in what was once known , until the Unification of
Italy, as “Old Piedmont”. It springs from the intuition of the proprietors, Gian Marco
and Letizia Moratti, who, together with the oenologist Riccardo Cotarella and a team
of experts gambled on a particularly favourable terroir. Significant investments in vines
and the cellars transformed the ancient castle into a point of reference for excellence.
And so, high recognition soon arrived from the most prestigious Italian wine guides.

Az. Vitivinicole Fattorie Cabanon

Azienda Agricola Cabanon was founded thanks to Giovanni Mercandelli who, with his passion and intuition, has put to use the efforts and the work that his family had always applied in the lands of ownership since 1909.

The company was expanded and totally planted with vineyards with modern and innovative standards.

Torrevilla

TORREVILLA's vineyard has a surface of 650 hectares situated in the western part of the Oltrepò Pavese area, in the Region of Lombardy, close to the borders of Piedmont. The main towns involved in the wine-growing activities are: Codevilla, Torrazza Coste, Montebello della Battaglia, Mornico Losana, Borgo Priolo, Retorbido, Montesegale, Rocca Susella and Godiasco.
There are twohundredandsixty members belonging to this winegrowers' association, who bring an average of 5.700.000 Kg of grapes to the winery, if calculated on the basis of the last three harvests.

Azienda Agricola Tenuta Riccardi di Riccardi Mariano

Tenuta Riccardi produces quality wines with D.O.C. and I.G.T. of Oltrepò Pavese. The cultivation of the vine of Oltrepò dates back to ancient, prehistorical times, as proven by the discovery of a trunk of vine–fossil, an evidence of the presence of the vine, cultivated or wild, for many millennia. Founded in 1912 by the grandfather’s passion for tradition and for the genuine products, it has been handed down to his son that united this passion to the agricultural first and then of wine knowledge, and today manages this winery, a meeting point for lovers of good wine and good food, always supporting the motto that good wine is made only with good grapes. Each vineyard has been meticulously designed by choosing the composition of the soil, the density of planting, the types of farming (strictly without the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides) and the best selection of vines, and is followed, until the full maturation of the grapes, while the harvest and the early stages of vinification are carried out with due respect for nature, but also with the aid of avant–garde technologies that preserve the genuineness of the final product ensuring maximum organoleptic quality.

Vigne Olcru

The design of this structure is followed by an internationally renowned architect, with offices in Verona, Porto Cervo and Moscow, who has already built wineries in USA, Russia and Italy. In addition to the winery, the heart of the activity, built into a hill banked to avoid any impact on the territory, on this surface a majestic hospitality area has been made to attract wine tourism. This area consists of a tasting room, a conference room with 100 seats, a shop, offices, a bar, an area for events used in business presentations, fashion shows, art exhibitions, weddings, birthdays, etc, and 5 bedrooms decorated with care in every detail. The panorama seen from the location is unique, with view of the valley below and of the rolling hills as far as the eye can see. Our intent is to provide our customers, in addition to a holiday surrounded by nature, where it will be possible to mountain biking, play golf, horseback riding, hiking and practice many other activities, the opportunity to taste wines and excellent classic methods after visiting the vineyards and the winery where the wine is made.

Az. Agr. Eredi Cerruti Stocco di Stocco Davide

The farm, owned by the Cerutti family since the early twentieth century, has an extension of about 12 hectares. The land, gently collimated, stretches around the farmhouse, the recently build winery and the arcade, that now is used as a shelter for tools. The land of the company was cultivated, up to the 50s or so, as arable soil, allowing in this way the breeding of cattle. All the work was done by hand or with rudimentary equipment pulled by oxen. Limited was the cultivation of grapes, with only a few scattered rows that interrupted the expanse of fields. The grapes produced was sufficient for family needs. It was collected, placed in a vat and pressed with feet. The must was transported in wooden barrels where it fermented and underwent the natural transformation into wine.



In 1948 the intensive cultivation of vines began, as it was understood that this activity was most suitable for the hilly terrain. For the first time, they carried out the trenching of the soil by mechanical means: a high–power tractor towing a plow capable of digging 1 meter deep furrows. Moreover, the espalier method of vine cultivation (a vine after the other, horizontally) was, this latter, a very important innovation, as it allowed the use of mechanical means for working the soil in an easy, fast and complete way. Furthermore, the product also receives more sun’s heat and fungicide treatments. Within 20 years or so, we reached 10 hectares of vineyards in production.



Red grapes such as Croatina, Barbera, Uva Rara, Pinot and Cabernet, and white grapes such as Riesling, Moscato, Malvasia and Chardonnay, are grown here. Most of the produce is pressed and vinified in the cellar of the company, following controlled methods, complying with the rules, but homemade. A portion of the produce is brought to the “La Versa” Cooperative Winery. Until two decades ago, vinification took place in a wine cellar adjacent to the old house. Space was limited and uncomfortable.
