“Together we... blossom” was held in Florence at Da Burde, a conference organized by winemaker Valentino Ciarla between producers and operators to understand where Italian wine is going.

This is what emerged from the meeting "Together We... Blossom," a provocative title with a dual meaning: together we can flourish, but also together we can uncork bottles for informal discussions. Over 30 wineries from across Italy met at the Trattoria Da Burde in Florence, united by the consultancy of winemaker Valentino Ciarla and the desire to meet with their colleagues. The event opened with a discussion on new challenges in the vineyard, in the cellar, and on the market. In addition to Valentino Ciarla, agronomists Giacomo Sensi, Gianluca Grassi, and Emanuele Graetz, an entrepreneur and importer in the United States, participated.

Today, scientific data is becoming even more important because climate change has forced us to abandon the methods used until now and pay ever closer attention to indicators in the vineyard and cellar. In this sense, much is changing: from the choice of rootstocks to vineyard practices, to varieties, which now favor native varieties over international ones. Only through observation can the right choices be made, because managing each individual situation depends on many factors. In this scenario, the producer's role is central. What is clearly evident, however, is that the most suitable vineyards are performing better, despite climate change. Furthermore, the winemaker's work has also changed, requiring a more constant presence in the cellar and an increasingly close dialogue with the countryside. These are significant but also stimulating challenges. Flexibility is also the key to addressing the market, particularly the United States.

"Together we… blossom" is a meeting designed to provide an opportunity for colleagues to meet, create collaborations and synergies, and share experiences. The results have been overwhelmingly positive, and now the goal is to repeat it and make it an annual event," Valentino Ciarla concludes.

The meeting continued with a meeting and wine tasting among the producers present, in an atmosphere of collaboration and discussion.
