Completed the first selections for the "2nd Wine Competition for Agricultural Schools in Italy", the competition created to compare and improve the quality of the wines produced directly by schools.
The competition for quality wines from schools
The Wine Competition for Agricultural Schools in Italy aims to promote in the Italian schools the production of wines with increasing levels of quality, stimulating educational methods which should be closer to the sector and the market.
In the competition are admitted only Italian wines with denomination of origin, typical geographical indication and sparkling wines produced solely by the Institutes of Technical Education.
The Agricultural Schools in Italy Wine Competition was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Ministry of Education, University and Research and was made possible thanks to the valuable contribution of the Enologi Enotecnici Italiani Association (Assoenologi) that is responsible for the technical and operational carrying out of the Competition.

Several samples of wines came from the Italian schools to compete in the name of quality.
The sensory analysis for the selections were held at the hall of Ministers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. Every sample was evaluated by two different commissions, each composed of
three oenologists and two journalists of the sector.
Twenty-five wines have exceeded the score of 80 cents, according to the Union Internationale des Oenologues method of evaluation, and received the recognition of quality established by the Competition Regulations.
The award ceremony for the winning wines will take place on the occasion of the 47th Vinitaly edition, which will take place in Verona from Sunday, 7th April.
