The 14th Romagna Wines Consortium Trophy – Master of Sangiovese 2015, which was held at the MIC – International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, saw a completely Tuscan podium.

Master of Sangiovese 2015 is the Florentine Andrea Galanti, he did better than Massimo Tortora and, on third position, Luca Degl’Innocenti, from the same region.

The three A.I.S. Sommelier finalists of this 2015 stood out in the written test. During the evening, the finals where the skill and mastery of the three Tuscan sommeliers stood out, took place.

Various and exciting were the tests they had to take: tasting of three Sangiovese wines with recognition; pairing of Sangiovese wine to a menu; correction of Sangiovese wine list; reception and taking of an order; communication about a choice subarea of Romagna Sangiovese (English optional); service and decanting of a wine.

Master of Sangiovese 2015: the satisfaction of the winner Andrea Galanti

«It was my first participation in the Master of Sangiovese and therefore my satisfaction for having won such a coveted award is higher, the first of my career. I tried a unique experience because Sangiovese is one of my favorite wines and through this contest I could further deepen it. Now, in addition to dedicate myself to my job, I will continue to study because I would like to participate in some other themed competition, and then try again to win the title of Best Sommelier in Italy, the competition in which I also participated in 2014, positioning sixth».

The prizes to the winner

Andrea Galanti, in addition to the title of "Master 2015 – Ambassador of Sangiovese" now can choose to take the sum of 2,500 € or to live a great professional experience: an eight–day trip to Los Angeles, with participation in the Master of Sangiovese course held by the North American Sommelier Association (N.A.S.A.).
