Edoardo Freddi International is strengthening its international development with Hiberica , a new export management company based in Spain created to support local wineries in foreign markets . The project is part of EFI & Friends , the ecosystem created to expand the group's reach beyond Italian wine and develop new skills and opportunities in international markets.
Hiberica was born from the application of the model developed by Edoardo Freddi International to the Spanish context : supporting wineries in defining export strategies , building distribution networks , selecting commercial partners and promoting brands in international markets . Launched in early 2026, the new company already represents eight companies from Spain's most prestigious wine-growing areas, such as Familia Martínez Bujanda , a group present in the country's main denominations, Bodegas Comenge in Ribera del Duero , the Albariño Lagar do Batán from the Rías Baixas and Laureado Brut , a contemporary expression of the DO Cava . Overall, Hiberica 's portfolio brings together companies that cultivate over 700 hectares of owned vineyards and are distributed in more than 60 countries . Part of EFI's international team is dedicated to the development of the project, providing commercial, marketing and export management skills to support growth in international markets.
But EFI & Friends ' growth isn't limited to Spain. Sapiens Spirits , a premium spirits project that supports internationally oriented producers in distribution and promotion, also continues to develop, serving as a link with foreign distributors.
This diversification strategy comes as Edoardo Freddi International is expanding. After closing 2025 with over €120 million in revenue and 38 million bottles sold, operating in 112 countries , EFI confirms its commitment to strengthening its global reach and developing vertical expertise across different categories and distribution models in 2026. In the first half of this year, it recorded 6% revenue growth and a consolidated presence in over 115 international markets . The number of partner wineries has grown to 68, while the team has reached 40 specialized professionals.
