It will not be an abundant year but certainly anticipated compared to last year. For this reason, Veneto Agricoltura and the Region have anticipated the highly anticipated focus (46th edition) on the harvest forecasts in the Veneto region, in the remaining North-East, in the main Italian wine regions, as well as in France and Spain, to 6 August.

The 2020 vintage in Veneto will undoubtedly be brought forward by a few days compared to last year and this is why the historic focus of the Wine Triptych , now in its 46th edition, dedicated to the harvest forecasts, will be held on August 6 and not after mid-August. how it had become customary in recent years.

The month of July is upon us and fortunately the Veneto vineyard continues to show an excellent state of health both in terms of health and the development of the grapes, a situation that has rarely been seen in the past. The winemakers rightly cross their fingers, but at the moment in all the suitable areas of our region it seems that everything is running smoothly: the grapes in the vineyards are developing regularly, also thanks to the good climatic trend of these weeks, and almost everywhere there are no particular health problems. Experts confirm that 2020 production should not be abundant and that the harvest will be earlier than 2019. And it is precisely by virtue of this announced advance that the second focus of the Veneto Wine Triptych will be held, as mentioned, on August 6th (hours 10:00 - 12:00 on the ZOOM platform).

The event, organized by Veneto Agricoltura with the collaboration of the Region , Avepa and Arpav , represents one of the most awaited moments of the year by the wine world, not only from the Veneto region, given that the very first qualitative-quantitative data are provided on the occasion the next harvest in Veneto , in the remaining North-East , in the main Italian wine regions (Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Puglia and Sicily), as well as in France and Spain . In practice, the focus of Veneto Agricoltura "photographs", as has been the case for many years, the most significant part of the European vineyard on the eve of the harvest, providing sector operators with very useful information on production and therefore on what the possible trends of the market.

This year there will be plenty of news . In fact, due to the restrictions due to Covid-19 , the focus of 6 August on the grape harvest forecasts will take place online on the ZOOM platform and not in the usual headquarters of Veneto Agricoltura in Legnaro-Pd. In practical terms, however, not much will change as the schedule of works will see, as always, the rapid succession of interventions by experts from the various wine-growing regions examined, which will provide the forecast framework for the 2020 vintage in their area of competence; a more in-depth analysis at the level of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige regions; and above all an analytical framework referring to Veneto and its suitable areas, with insights into the meteorological conditions that characterized the current year, the vegetative and phytosanitary state of the main vines; quali-quantitative previosini of the harvest, information on the Veneto organic vineyard, etc.
