The Region, explains Confagricoltura Piemonte, has in fact activated a tender, co-financed with European funds, to encourage the inclusion of young people in the primary sector, with an allocation of 45.6 million euros. Young farmers who, at the time of submitting the application, are aged between 18 (completed) and 41 (not completed) and have already owned a farm for no more than 24 months can participate in the call .

The deadline for submitting applications is December 20, 2021.

" It is an important provision and - declares the president of Confagricoltura Piemonte Enrico Allasia - which will be able to offer over 500 young Piedmontese the opportunity to compete entrepreneurially by setting up for the first time in agriculture or by taking ownership of family businesses. maximum attention to investment opportunities - adds Allasia - and for this reason, with our technicians involved in the Agricultural Unions of Piedmont, we are available to young people to provide them with the necessary tools for the development of projects and the definition of business plans ".

In our region ( Confagricoltura elaborations on Piedmont Region data ), there are 5,811 agricultural enterprises run by young people under the age of 41 out of a total of 42,652.

" Young people represent only 13.6% of those employed in the primary sector at the entrepreneurial level, while the over 65s are 13,741, equal to 32.2% of the total.
