Ancient white grape vine native of Friuli Venezia Giulia, recently re-evaluated and inserted in the Doc Eastern Hills of Friuli. It was appreciated in the XIIth Century, it is thought that it was imported by the Romans in Friuli from the Avola grapes. From Ribolla grapes pure vinified producing a fresh with lively acidity wine , with delicate taste and a characteristic fruity aroma. Wines got from this vine variety are the Colli Orientali of Friuli and Collio Gorizia wines. It fits well with appetizers of raw fish, salty fish dishes, mushroom dishes and soups.
