La Douja del Monferrato - events next weekend

The Bolognese singer-songwriter and musician will take the stage of the festival, Saturday 18 September, at 9.30 pm. But with Poggipollini there will be - as mentioned - many guests of honor at the events promoted by the Consorzio della Barbera to enhance and promote the great wines of the 13 doc and docg wines protected by the body led by Filippo Mobrici. Friday evening there will be a moment dedicated to the Overland “caravan”, which for Raiuno has created an exceptional television travelogue of 21 expeditions in 25 years, with over 565,000 kilometers traveled. On Saturday in addition to Poggipollini there will be the performance of the fanfare of the Alpina Taurinense brigade that will cross the center of Asti. And on Sunday evening the opera singer Enrico Iviglia, originally from Castell'Alfero, will present his latest book. Many events in the name of Barbera, with the great signature dinners curated by Doctor Chef Federico Ferrero and organized this week by the Pro loco di Roatto (led by Stefania Maggio) and Cantarana (Lory Delucca) in collaboration with the Mos Foundation. The tastings of the great wines of the Consortium will also continue with the signature dinners, paired with typical traditional dishes proposed this week by Confagricoltura Asti.

This is the program in detail Friday 17 September (from 6 pm to 1 am)

* 11.00 - Inauguration of the new exhibition of the Territorial Paleontological Museum of Asti, which is located in the Palazzo del Michelerio and which will observe the following extraordinary openings during the Douja d'Or:

Friday and Saturday from 20.00 to 23.00;

Sunday from 20.00 to 22.30. * 8.00 pm - Bistrot del Monferrato, with the presence in the kitchen of Doctor Chef Federico Ferrero (by reservation, maximum 40 seats, 50 euros). Menu: onion pie with black green truffle caponata with torrent caviar mashed potatoes with sweetbreads in roast sauce ice cream, canestrelli and truffle Barbera d'Asti DOCG (steel only)

* Tastings of great white and red wines of Monferrato, selected in over 200 labels, combined with gastronomic specialties of the Piedmontese tradition by Confagricoltura Asti - (Russian salad, strips of Tonco cockerel, Cocconato robiola with onion compote, puff pastry of vegetables, focaccia croutons). 4 tastings: 10 euros Selection of accompanying tastings: 10 euros

* 9.30 pm - Barbera talks: Overland Experience. Stories, documents and images directly from the voice of those who have lived this fantastic adventure and presentation of the book Iveco - Overland "The Africa of my truck" by Beppe "Simon" Simonato Program Saturday 18 September (from 6 pm to 1 am)

The Bolognese musician born in 1968, historical guitarist of Luciano Ligabue but also prolific and eclectic solo artist, will alternate the anecdotes of his career with the description of his project "Canzoni rubate "Sunday 19 September (11-14; 18-22.30)

* 9.00 pm - Barbera talks: “Women at work - dialogues with a tenor” with Enrico Iviglia. The artist will present his book, an intertwining of strong and current arguments through the figures of the main female protagonists of melodrama.
