The Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium at Golosaria: tastings of new vintages and an increasingly close dialogue with the restaurant industry.
Promoting appellations requires firsthand knowledge of the wines, interaction with industry professionals, and the ability to build relationships with those who contribute to sharing their stories with the public every day. It is with this in mind that the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium is participating in Golosaria, scheduled for October 31st to November 2nd, with a calendar of events dedicated to the labels of its member wineries and the connection between Monferrato's winemaking heritage and Italian gastronomic culture.
Throughout the event, the public will be able to experience the denominations protected by the Consortium through a tasting table featuring over 20 labels from member companies: an opportunity to explore the region's diverse wines and learn about the producers' work firsthand.
The program will kick off on Saturday, October 31st, at 2:00 PM in the Wine Tasting Area, with the talk "Barbera d'Asti DOCG: the lightness and drinkability of the Italian POP grape." Leading the tasting will be sommelier Claudio Cavazza and journalist Alessandro Ricci, who will sample eight Barbera d'Asti DOCGs from the 2025 vintage. This journey is designed to highlight the grape's versatility and its potential for interpretation, portraying a wine capable of interacting with a variety of tastes and drinking occasions.
On Monday, November 2nd, starting at 1:30 pm on the Agorà stage, the Consortium will also be present at the awards ceremony for Italy's best trattorias, an event that highlights the value of the relationship between wine and cuisine and the role of restaurants in spreading Italian food and wine culture.
Participation in Golosaria is part of a broader commitment, which complements the promotion at the fair with initiatives that bring Monferrato wines directly to convivial spaces. Among these is Monferrato by the Glass, a project that connects local wineries with a selection of restaurants, fostering new opportunities for producers, restaurant professionals, and consumers to meet.
The initiative will continue in Milan throughout the month of November, involving five venues and as many wineries: L'Alchimia with Cantina Bava, Locanda Sempione with Cantina La Torre, Sapori Solari Cocktail Bistrot with Hic et Nunc, Pa.lato with Vinicola Bianco Angelo e Figli and Ristorante Sadler with Montalbera.
Through these collaborations, Monferrato by the glass continues to highlight the presence of local wines in its gastronomic offerings, offering the public the opportunity to discover their characteristics and identities paired with different cuisines and dining styles.
From the trade fair to the glass served at the restaurant, the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium thus carries out promotional activities that combine the promotion of the denominations, attention to wine culture, and development of relationships with industry professionals.
