Creativity meets wine culture: the 14th edition of the three-day event featuring tastings, meetings, music, and events that brought Corciano's historic center to life from October 2nd to 4th has concluded.

From discussions on the future of the Umbrian wine sector to foodie journeys, including the Wine Lounge with Riccardo Cotarella and tastings dedicated to Italian and international regions, including Slovenia.

The 14th edition of Corciano Castello di Vino concluded with a three-day celebration, bringing its journey through wine, culture, traditions, and conviviality back to the historic center of Corciano from October 2nd to 4th. This edition focused on creativity and the ability to reinvent itself, while maintaining a strong connection to the event's original structure and the village that hosts it.

For three days, the streets and squares of the historic center were transformed into a traveling sensory journey, featuring wineries, food halls, musical events, and a program offering the public diverse opportunities to explore the culture of wine. This year, the narrative broadened its scope, from Umbria to the winemaking experiences of other Italian regions, including a visit to Slovenia.

"I believe this edition has provided a concrete answer to our initial goal: to continue creating, experimenting, and offering something new without distorting the identity of Corciano Castello di Vino," commented Bruno Nucci, president of the organizing association. "Over these three days, we've seen how much the public appreciates an event that goes beyond tastings, but also creates opportunities for meeting and learning about wine. The result encourages us to look forward to the next edition with the same desire to get involved, because it is precisely through our ability to renew ourselves that we can ensure this project grows over time. My thanks go to all the volunteers who work behind the scenes, without whom we could never have achieved all this."

Among the events that marked 2026 was the General Assembly of Wine in Umbria , which opened the program by addressing the regional wine region and offering an opportunity for discussion with representatives of institutions and major agricultural organizations. This event placed the focus not only on wine as a product, but also on the prospects of a sector closely tied to the history, economy, and promotion of the region.

There was also a large turnout for the Wine Lounge , which featured Riccardo Cotarella , president of Assoenologi Italia and honorary president of the Union Internationale des Œnologues, in a meeting dedicated to his professional career and the world of oenology.

The program also introduced the public to a variety of wine experiences. From a tasting dedicated to Metodo Classico and Oltrepò Pavese, curated by journalist Jacopo Cossater, to the "I viaggi del gusto" event, which brought a winery from the Slovenian region of Goriška Brda to Corciano, in collaboration with La Vinoteca di San Sisto. There were also plenty of events dedicated to education and creativity, with an exhibition curated by students from the Benedetto Bonfigli Comprehensive Institute and the awarding of the "HumusAmor" Wine Art scholarship, as well as more unusual and original offerings, including "In acqua veritas," a tasting of luxury waters curated by hydrosommelier Barbara Giancarlo.

Alongside the events for adults, the event also included a space for families and children, with the DidatticaMente 2026 workshops, dedicated to the colors of autumn and the grape harvest, and Playing in the Castle. Live and traveling music filled the historic center throughout the event. These were the Corciano Castello di Vino awards presented at the closing dinner held in the charming Taverna del Duca.

The winners Best sparkling wine to Cantina Berioli with “Mirla”, followed by Casali del Toppello with “Sar” and Madrevite with “Futura” Best white to Terre del Carpine with “Albo”, followed by Cantine Berioli with “Vercanto” and Cantina Morami with “Pratolungo” Best rosé to Casali del Toppello with “Cornaletto”, followed by Il Poggio with “Es… Senza” and Duca della Corgna with “Martavello” Best red to Terre del Carpine with “Cucchiarone” 2024, followed by Cantina Berioli with “Spiridione Riserva” 2019 and Cantina Morami with “Petit Verdot” 2023 Best participating winery award awarded by the Popular Jury to Cantina Pucciarella.

In total, 11 wineries, 30 stands along the streets, and 300 Corciano volunteers collaborated to make the three-day event possible. The wineries participating in the fourteenth edition were: Agricola Casaioli, Coldibetto, Duca della Corgna, Morami, Casali del Toppello, Il Poggio, Pucciarella, Terre del Carpine, Berioli, La Casa dei Cini, and Madrevite. Also present were guest wineries Benedetti & Grigi, Daniele Rossi, Tenute Cesaroni, Baldassarri, Lungarotti, and Oleum.

The 14th edition also confirmed Corciano Castello di Vino 's vocation as an opportunity to experience the village beyond just its food and wine experiences. The tour of the cellars and tasting areas complemented the historic and artistic heritage of the town center, with the opening of the Antiquarium and the Church Museum of San Francesco, and the presence of the Tourist Information Office throughout the event.

As in previous editions, this year's event maintained its commitment to enhancing and restoring the village's heritage, a goal that underpins the work of the Corciano Castello di Vino association and is one of the project's founding principles. Furthermore, as usual, the event also focuses on social issues: part of the funds raised will be donated, in collaboration with the Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation and Umbria TV, to the Libera...mente Donna association, which carries out awareness-raising, prevention, and combating gender-based violence.
