Piancornello is a small company founded in 1991. It is located in the south of Montalcino, about 250 meters above sea level and in an area of sedimentary orgines, very rich in stones and rocks. The steep slopes, ranging from a 4% to 15%, and the particularly draining land for the presence of the stone, allow to have little moisture and to obtain very structured and mineral wines. The vineyards of Piancornello lie on a beautiful upland that borders south with the river Orcia, which after 45 km flows into the sea, blowing across the valley, where hot winds coming from the Mediterranean go up the river. These features allow to have quite early harvests.
