LA MONTATA is located in the north area of Sant’Angelo in Vado in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the territory of Montefeltro in an area described as MASSA TRABARIA in the Metauro Upper Valley.
Completely sheltered from the Tramontana winds, it has 2 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level which are a balcony over the village, facing south–south–west to receive, in summer, the cool wind from the Apennines which lowers the humidity level typical of the area in very hot days and in September, a very high value of temperature range ideal for enhancing the scents. The most important plant of 7 hectares is 8 km from the village 500 m above sea level in an area called CAPANNE, on lands that are perfect for growing grapes, with excellent exposure and very windy, here 1,200 plants of Visciola were planted.
Red: Sangiovese, Alicante, Aleatico, Colorino, Unknown Vines; but the recovery of the gems from the old systems of the territory, to maintain the characteristics of the plants, which have made unique the production of extremely original wines.
