On the initiative of the Valdichiana producers, on 9 Decembre 1965 the Bianco Vergine Valdichiana Consortium was founded in Cortona, with the aim of promoting the DOC institution for white wine, implemented with the Decree of the President of the Republic on 1 September 1972. In 1999 the Consortium, which in the meantime had established its headquarters in Arezzo, brought a great change to the specifications, including in the DOC also other types of white and red wines, always produced in Valdichiana, bringing to completion after more than thirty years the right aspirations of producers. The DOC changed its name in Valdichiana and the Consortium took the actual denomination of “Consorzio Vini Valdichiana”. It aims to protect quality and compliance with the specifications, to promote and support production in the markets and towards consumers. For the actions of protection of the quality and compliance with the specifications, the Consortium obtained with the Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of 14 July 2003 the task of vigilance towards its members. This activity, which brings substantial benefits also to consumers, is carried out with periodic controls both in the company (vineyards and wineries) and on the bottled wine collected in sale points.
The Baracchi Estate is situated on the hill adjacent to Cortona and the winery enjoys the wonderful panorama of Valdichiana in the smiling Tuscan sun.
The classic Tuscan villa dating back to the middle of the seventeenth century was home to the illustrious poet of Arezzo Antono Guadagnoli, now interely restored and transformed into a Realis in the countryside: Il Falconiere, which is part of the prestigious Relais & Chteaux chain with which it shares the philosophy of the art of welcoming. The Relais, the restaurant and the adjacent wine cellar are surrounded by ancient olive trees that give way to new concept’ vineyards.
Riccardo and Benedetto have strongly wanted to continue the traditions of the family that has cultivated vines and produced wine since 1860, giving it now a modern character and of great quality.
Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet and Trebbiano: these are the grapes that give rise to the wines of the company. A tribute to the land of Cortona and to the pleasure of good wine. An invitation to taste the evolution of an ancient family tradition.
Massimo d’Alessandro and Giuseppe Calabresi had the idea to allocate a portion of the housing for the “creation of a village” of wine lovers.
Partners since 2007, they have complementary roles within the company.
Massimo d’Alessandro, designer and already a professor of Design at La Sapienza University in Rome, represents the story of the family that has led the way to quality wine in the territory of Cortona.
He founded an avant–garde gallery in Rome in the 70s, inheriting the passion for art, cultivated over the years as a collector.
Giuseppe Calabresi is the soul of the business and the finance in the company, he is still today shareholder of the Calabresi company of transport, a leader in the Lazio region in the field of road transport, and a former member of Finanziaria Ktesios, one of the few private companies active in the sector of consumer credit in Italy.
He participates with passion to the important re–launch of the company’s brand in the world of wine, and he also collects contemporary artworks.
The only wine produced by this company, the Caberlot, is the fruit of the ambitious vision of Wolf Rogosky who, after long years of waiting, managed to plant, in 1986, a few rows of Cabernet, of which he had understood the potential. His passion was soon accompanied by excellent results. After his death in 1996, the burden and the honor of carrying forward the nascent project passed to his wife Bettina, his son Philip and his girlfriend, Sarah.
What today is considered the Il Borro Estate, actually arose as a place with a long past which would be a meeting-place and a source of work for residents in the area. The heart of the Estate is really the small Medieval Village which, with a history going back to far-away 1039, is built on the craggy rocks of the "borro", a term used to indicate a ravine formed by the bed of a stream.
Today the Estate has returned to a new splendour, thanks to the care lavished on it and the lengthy restoration work carried out by the new owners.
The bygone traditions of these places live again, as they always did in the past.

From the heart of Tuscany, full-bodied wines and the prestigious Extra vergin olive's oil. An unique area for soil composition, exposure and climate. 28 hectares of vineyards of Chianti, 27 hectares of olive groves from which is produced the famous extra virgin olive oil, 200 hectares of cereal fields.
Azienda Agricola Juri Faralli, family–run, located in Fasciano locality, a small village in the municipality of Cortona. At its center there is a modern winery, while the land and its vineyards are situated at an altitude ranging from 250 to 330 meters above sea level, in particularly well exposed areas (north North–west). The company includes 70 hectares of land, 5 planted with vineyards, about 1 with olive groves, and the rest are planted with crops. The density of plants per hectare in the new plant is of 3,300 vines per hectare.
The whole company production takes place in full respect of agriculture and with integrated pest management.
The harvest is strictly manual with more than one pass in each vineyard and a with green harvest in July, with the aim of improving the quality of wine.
The extra virgin olive oil is obtained by cold extraction of the oil from olives, harvested by hand.
Casali in Val di Chio was founded thanks to Lidia and Roberta, who revitalized the ancient family business.
The main activity of the family has always been the production of wine and oil. In 1996, the two sisters decided to renew the company beginning to restore some of the farmhouses of the estate to be allocated to the holiday farm activity and specializing the agricultural production for the making of quality DOC and IGT Tuscan wines and Tuscan IGP extra virgin olive oil from organic farming.
Currently, the Campo del Monte company boasts seven hectares of land planted with vines.The cultural techniques adopted follow the method of eco–friendly integrated agriculture. The company’s philosophy aims to obtain high quality in the production of wine and oil.
