At the origins of history, the Pampinutta hill Looking back through the chronicles of the centuries, we discover that the land chosen by Alessandra Felluga for her wine world boasts a long memory of winemaking. This is demonstrated by the name of the hill where the grapes of the Castello di Buttrio wines grow: Pampinutta, a clear reference to the leaves of the vines. The parish register of the Church of Santa Maria di Buttrio holds the news that as early as 1429 Federico Signore di Buttrio was giving away "conzi" of Cividino wine. And he specifies that the Cividino white wine was "very aromatic with a taste of rosolio and carnations" and that in the same period "Ribolla d'Istria, Pinella, Clareda, Turbiano, Malvasia, Moscatello" were produced. In the 17th century "refosco, picolito, tazzelenghe, bevert, prosecco, negrus, fumat, corvin, cordovado, ribolla nera, dulciolo, berzamino, ribolla giallo and verde" were added. The vineyards of the "Buiatti Livio e Claudio" Farm are situated in the "in Mont e Poanis" locality, in the Eocene hills between the towns of Buttrio and Premariacco. The family business is led by Claudio Buiatti and his wife Viviana continuing, with great passion, the work of their ancestors who, already at the beginning of the twentieth century, cultivated vines in Buttrio. In recent years, the care and effort spent to achieve the highest quality results were supported by a focus on the type of intervention in the vineyard. Implant systems with a high number of plants per hectare, strict pruning, essential fertilizing and grassing of the vineyards are some of the cultural practices to obtain grapes with large concentrations of flavoring; these are fermented in a rigorous manner, producing wines of excellence that the Buiatti lords, kindly, make taste to those who wish to visit their winery.
The Sottomonte Estate is located in Buttrio, 12 km south of Udine, in the district of the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC, a hilly environment with a strong winemaking vocation.
The estate covers 110 hectares almost entirely cultivated with vineyards and has been belonging to our family for over 500 years. In the ancient documents preserved in our archives there are numerous historical records such as that with which, in 1140, ten colonies of Buttrio were given as dowry to a convent of Benedictine monks so that they could obtain oil and wines: the Sottomonte Estate, until a few years ago had still ten colonies. Of particular interest is the seventeenth–century Family Palace, newly renovated and now house of a hotel and restaurant: Palazzo d’Attimis Maniago with its stables.
A particular source of pride is the exclusive use of grapes grown with their own vineyards, 70% consist of vines born in the fields of clonal selection of the Estate.
Therefore, vineyards are perfectly set and wines are really typical. A "great" wine, for that matter, comes with no doubt from a "great" vineyard.

Since 1904, the year in which grandfather Luigi began to cultivate the vineyards of the Morpurgo castle, it has been a long time, but the reference values of that time have reached today, within a domestic dimension that has always characterized the agricultural events of the Pontoni. Ours is a typically Friulian family-run company, of about 11 hectares, of which 5 are planted with vineyards. Every year we produce 30 thousand bottles, with a remarkable variety of excellent wines, both native and international. The company has always been attentive to eco-compatible agronomic choices. The Petrucco farm was born from the love of Lina and Paolo Petrucco for their land: we are in the heart of the DOC area of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in Buttrio in Monte. The Colli Orientali del Friuli are sweet and sunny terraces, ideal for viticulture, practiced in these areas since ancient times. The soils are of Eocene origin, consisting mainly of layered clays and calcareous marls. This type of soil, which takes the name of ponca, is particularly suitable for growing grapes as it is very rich in mineral salts and microelements. The property covers an area of 35 hectares, of which 20 are planted with vines, with a production of about 80,000 bottles a year, following a deliberately contained yield per hectare, which makes quality the main objective. Petrucco wines are the clear expression of our land and are born from the happy combination of ancient wisdom and modern technology.
