The passion for the land and its fruits, grapes and olives, has distinguished the Parovel family from generation to generation. In 1976 and thanks to father Zoran, the Parovel winery was the first company in the Karst area to offer its native wines in bottles, in addition to extra virgin olive oil from the autochthonous Bianchera-Belica variety, unique for its organoleptic properties. Among the extra virgin olive oils the Tergeste Dop stands out with the monovarietal of Bianchera-Belica called UL'KA Parovel. The freshness, frankness and genuineness of each variety, which is expressed both in the wine and in the extra virgin olive oil, characterize the Parovel style built according to the rhythms and evolutions of nature and man. Moreover, and thanks to the passion of father Zoran for Istrian Malvasia, a cultivation started by his grandfather Pietro in 1898, the Parovel company is one of the historical custodians of its territorial interpretations and expressions. Numerous annual meetings are organized in Cantina Parovel. Moreover, the Osmiza festival is the ideal time to combine traditional local products with Barde wines and Parovel extra-virgin olive oils Ul'ka Rozo 'and Mackè. Each visit is organized around a sensory journey that begins in the countryside through the oil mill and ends in the cellar. Here, wines and oils are an opportunity to meet Trieste's art, philosophy and culture: they convey the sense of belonging to an ancient family of winemakers with Slovenian roots, which is today characterized by a creative and innovative spirit that it is revealed both in the countryside and in the bottle.

Family.
The Tenute Grandi & Gabana estate has developed from the ancient roots of the
Friuli Venezia Giulia Doc viticulture territory. The name comes from the founder,
Marcello Gabana, one of the first to believe and invest with commitment and
dedication in the wine business, unfortunately he left us prematurely. Today his
noble history continues in the same direction with the renewed enthusiasm of his
daughters Giulia and Claudia and wife Daniela.
Situated in the heart of the Friuli-Latisana Doc area, the estate is surrounded by its
350 hectares, 100 of which are dedicated to the vineyards. The typical
soil found in
the area is a calcareous clay soil, ideal for the production of aromatic and structured
wines. The love of the land and passion for wine enabled Tenute Grandi & Gabana
to become one of the most interesting wine producers in the area, thanks also to the
family tradition and natural ability to produce and offer excellent wines.
Territory.
The Friuli-Latisana Doc territory, a harmonious combination of tastes and
atmosphere, is located in the South West side of Udine on a territory with inimitable
features. The soil is calcareous and is characterized by compact clay layers with
fractions of peat, making the wine that derives from this region very distinctive and
typical of the area, unique in its kind both from a physical and biological point of
view. This also thanks to the fact that the soil has a natural supply of underground
mineral water and therefore the area is kept in absolute respect to the environment.
Another beneficial contribution is the temperate climate, mild winters and pleasant
warm summers. Given these distinctive attributions, our vines are in an ideal
position for the cultivation of indigenous single varietal vines, like Refosco dal
Peduncolo Rosso, the Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Grigio and Sauvignon, which all
give unique and unmistakable sensations to the palate, a genuine expression of its
origin.

Today Tenute Grandi & Gabana provides a balanced
combination of history
(which stems back to the beginning of the century) and modernity.
In the course of the years the Gabana family has gradually increased the number of
hectares on its estate to meet the demand of a rapidly expanding market, planting
new vineyards along with the older ones (30-35 years
old) from which our top wines
come from, the “Cru Selection”.
The new and future plan of the wine cellar includes the construction
of
an innovative and modern structure together with architecturally advanced
showrooms where visitors can taste the entire selection that the company
offers from
wine to grappa.
I Feudi di Romans is a family-owned winery that has been producing exceptional wines for over 50 years. They prioritize the use of sustainable farming techniques to ensure the highest quality grapes. Using both traditional and modern winemaking methods, they create complex and nuanced wines that express the unique terroir of their vineyards. The winery is committed to innovation and experimentation to continually improve the quality of their wines.
Crastin is a farmhouse inn run by Sergio Collarig who since 1991 produces and bottles his wine in Rutars, an area at a stone’s throw from the Slovenian border.
Adriano Teston, the president of the Oenologists of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, markets with his brand the wine produced by the farmers he follows.
The company is part of the group of the Aleandri Estates, a family operating in Veneto that has always been able to take advantage of the potential of the territory of the Collio area.
"Vigna del Lauro" (or Laurel Tree Vineyard) was born in 1994 through a collaboration with one of my closest friends, Eberhard Spangenberg, a German importer of fine Italian wines.
The name comes from an old estate planted with Tocai Friulano grapes. The vines are surrounded by centuries-old bay laurels: their leaves fill the vineyards with intense, spicy fragrance.
The estate covers roughly 10 hectars in the township of Cormons, situated in the Collio and Isonzo DOCs (partly owned and partly leased).
The estate is run by my family: myself, my wife Daniela and our two sons, Matteo and Enrico. Our main focus is respect and care for the fruit itself. We consider this approach essential in expressing the varietal traits of each wine and celebrating the originality of our terroir.
The vineyards of the Vidussi company, run by the Montresor family that operates in Verona, lie in the heart of Friulian Collio. The quality level of the farm produce is very satisfactory.
The Aldo Polencic company is actually a small family–run company; the small size of the land allows a more attentive care of the vineyards, and then a final product of high quality.
The wine produced by the Pascolo farm is derived from the exclusive fermentation of the grapes from the vineyards of exclusive properties. The meticolousness in the countryside is realized through operations, such as the selection of buds, bunch thinning and manual harvesting, aimed at obtaining the best grapes possible, while respecting the principle that a great wine is made exclusively from good grapes.
Mulino delle Tollo, today, is a new cutting–edge winery and a suggestive farm. The wines produced increase their quality year after year, and enclose in their notes the characteristics of the territory where they are made, and the company’s philosophy does not follow the dictates of the market.
The Magnàs company is a really nice, family–run business, where the traditions and love for the land and for wine have been handed down from father to son for years.
