The company is managed totally by the family, the current production is of about 25,000 bottles. To date, three generations have been working the land, with the desire to pursue a path that can continue to pass on the love for an ancient activity, through modern and technologically advanced visions and to achieve, in our craft work, operational excellence, but above all to preserve as long as we can passion and enthusiasm, which combine in each taste at each harvest, through the rows.
Villa Matilde Avallone winery is a family-owned business with a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Their focus is on producing high-quality wines using traditional methods and locally sourced grapes. The Foschini family manages with pride a little more than 4 hectares of vineyards, predominantly native (Falanghina, Aglianico, Greco, Fiano) in the heart of the winegrowing Sannio Beneventano area, a production area of ancient origin, with wines already known in pre–Roman times for both for the goodness of the places and vines, as well as for the special winemaking techniques used (Kapnios wine).
The produced wines are marketed claiming both the Sannio DOC (Greco and Fiano), as well as the Guardia Sanframondi DOC (Falanghina, Aglianico and Rosso). The Guardia Sanframondi DOC falls in a limited grown with vines territory, exclusively hilly, within the Sannio DOC.
Azienda Galardi is a renowned winery that produces high-quality wines using traditional techniques and modern technology. The Antico Borgo wine company arises here, from the passion of two pioneers of the wine history of Taurasi: the oenologist Raffaele Inglese, great Conservative, supporter of the peculiarities of each individual vine variety – all his works clearly bear this signature – and Baldo di Sessa, an expert vinegrower who, as a Father, lovingly and patiently brings to maturation his Sons vineyards. In full respect of the traditional processing techniques, the company makes all its processing in Taurasi, in the old town, instead, and hence the company’s name, has caves of thousands of years for fining. In Irpinia, a land that gives origin to the most ancient grape varieties of Italy, the Fratelli Urciuolo agricultural company rises, located on the slopes of Mount Falliesi. A careful family management, a special dedication for the job, combined with the experience gained from previous generations, make of the Fratelli Urciuolo company a promising reality in the oenology of Irpina.
The story of the Montevetrano company originates from the enthusiasm to experiment in a group of friends a shared passion for wine, when the legendary reference points of the time were Bordeaux wines.
In the past, it was ownership of the Bourbons, in time it became a farming company. Purchased in the 40s by the Imparato grandparents, it produced fruits, hazelnuts, wine and olive oil for family use.
In 1985, on about two hectares of land, Taurasi Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot of Barbera, Per palummo (piedirosso) and grapes of Troia were re–engaged.
In 1991, the very few first bottles of Montevetrano with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Aglianico were launched for some friends.
It was a party, it looked like a game, surprising, because Montevetrano was much higher than expected.
Friends pushed through, Silvia Imparato and Riccardo Cotarella standed at attention for an aging wine of great quality. Today Montevetrano is no longer the challenge of yesterday. It is a small but solid company, which sells its wine all over the world, to a limited measure. Being a small reality, whose wine production has more demand than production, our business strategy does not usually provide for participation in fairs, and if we do, almost always as attentive audience.
For the small number of bottles (about 30,000 per year) and the sales all over the world, we believe in the sacred close relationship with our customers, directing the product in a defined way.
The control of the bottles is also vital to our archive, which we have been holding with great care from the earliest days of production. The objectives pursued by Montevetrano are dictated by concrete values of simplicity, through work and knowledge, in an experience stronger than our land, in the different markets and their cultures in a changing world.
We are there and we are recognized because we are understood, with a deep and elegant wine that speaks, in a modern way, of its land in the world. All this thanks to a strong preparation by each of us. A few but attentive, each of us linked to its sector but together with the others, through a balance that brings strength to Montevetrano.
Founded in 1986, Feudi di San Gregorio today is the brand symbol of the Renaissance wine of southern Italy and a culture of drinking aimed to rediscover the identity of Mediterranean flavors. Founded in 1996, th Villa Raiano company arises from an ambitious project by the Basso family, who strongly believed in the potential of an extraordinary territory, for wine culture and tradition, like Irpinia. The winery arises in the Raiano village, a district of a municipality in the heart of Irpinia, to which it owes its name, but after 13 years of continuous growth and research, the new winery designed and created according to the most modern technological and architectural criteria was built, situated on a hill 600 meters above sea level, in the municipality of San Michele di Serino (AV).
Villa Raiano produces wines only from native of Campania grape varieties: Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Aglianico di Taurasi e Falanghina, vinified in single–variety, to keep intact all the characteristics of each single variety. All people involved in the winery pay great attention both to a logical management of the vineyards and to the maximum care of all the phases in the winery.
The quality system of the winery has been certified and recognized even by the International Food Standards and the British Retail Consortium, making Villa Raiano the only winery in Campania to boast those recognitions.
The company is located in Lapio, a small hamlet in the green hills of Irpinia, the most grown with vineyards municipality in Fiano di Avellino, that has always been considered a cru of choice.
The area is particularly suited to the cultivation of Fiano and favored by the climatic point of view, by the presence of the Piacenza mountains: one of its peaks, Mount Tuoro (1,400 m) is near and acts as a temperature controller to modulate the heat and to increase the temperature range at night and in winter.
The small winery was founded in 2004, by the will of Ercole Zarrella, his wife Aurelia Fabrizio and his brother Antonio, who, sons of farmers and growers since time immemorial, after long years spent giving grapes to third parties, decided to make wine and bottle self–produced grapes.
The Colli di Lapio comapny by Clelia Romano was founded from the passion for viticulture that the Romano family has handed down from generation to generation. Established in 1994, the company is situated in Araniello, a small village in the municipality of Lapio, in the Irpino locality, approximately 550 meters above sea level, in a dry and ventilated place. Lapio is the largest production center of Fiano di Avellino DOCG and is also one of the few towns that can boast the dual designation of Fiano DOCG and Taurasi DOCG. The careful monitoring of dad Pasquale, the competence of husband Angelo, the energy and desire to make of son Federico develop the company, in which past, present and future merge, creating a winery where the wine tradition is alive, but also where there are modern production systems.
Fattoria La Rivolta is a charming winery that focuses on producing high-quality organic wines. They are committed to traditional winemaking techniques and use only the finest grapes in their production process. In 2001 Luigi Moio and Laura Di Marzio founded the Quintodecimo company on a hill of Mirabella Eclano, in Campania, at a stone’s throw from Taurasi. The name stems from the toponym Quintum Decimum, which at the beginning of the eighth century, identified the house where the ancient Municipium of Eclanum was located.
Five hectares of dolomitic rocks – limestone, terraces at 500 meters, an exceptional sun exposure and the iodine action of the sea on the Amalfi Coast. To the charm of the territory of Furore, dominated by the geometry of the vineyards, the impressive wine cellar carved in the rocks must be added, where freshness and moisture influence in the best way the natural aging in oak barrels.
Cantine Marisa Cuomo is holder of the Gran Furor Divina Costiera brand that dates back to 1942, when it began to be used to market the wines obtained from the terraces of the Furore Coast.
The company produces, beyond wines of superb quality such as the COSTA D’AMALFI – FURORE WHITE and RED, and COSTA D’AMALFI RIVELLO RED and WHITE, the precious COSTA D’AMALFI – FURORE FIORDUVA, awarded five clusters on the “DUEMILAVINI” guide to the wines of Italy, published by AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) and the FURORE RED RESERVE.
