A tour of the markets : from the squares of Trento to the enchantment of Canale di Tenno and Rango, among the most beautiful villages in Italy, up to the evocative Habsburg Park of Levico Terme , where Christmas is also the scene of the Feste del Gusto in collaboration between Slow Food and the Trentino Wine and Flavor Route. And then Perzenland in Pergine Valsugana, Riva del Garda with its traditional Santa Claus house and the brand new and original Grinch house, just to name a few. Trentino has always been among the most popular destinations for markets, with wooden houses full of food and wine delights and local craftsmanship . The "Christmas of Vallagarina" proposal is particularly rich: from the best-known center of Rovereto , with its illuminations among the seventeenth-eighteenth century palaces, to that of Ala Città di Velluto, with its "Christmas in the Baroque Palaces". In Avio the appointment is at the Fai Castle, for original guided tours and moments of entertainment, while in Nomi you can admire the monumental nativity scenes set up throughout the town. Between one stage and another, the advice is to carve out a few moments to visit one of the many wineries that dot the landscape for a tasting , such as Azienda Agricola Balter , from which to admire a wonderful panorama; Pedrotti Spumanti , with its cave for refining the bubbles, or Azienda Agricola Grigoletti , which will amaze you with its particular environments. Between wineries & distilleries on holidays and for special events : as on weekends , even the holidays of the Immaculate Conception become an opportunity to discover Trentino wineries or distilleries . The list is really long (here are the complete openings of the Weekends in the Cellar ) but, in addition to the more traditional visits, dedicated events are also planned. An example? The Wine Experience: 20 years in 2 glasses of the Pelz winery in Val di Cembra , scheduled for Thursday 7th and Saturday 9th December at 6pm. Two unmissable evenings in which you will taste two particular glasses of Riesling - one with the first ten vintages of the cellar and one with the last ten - combined with a three-course menu (reservation by calling 0461 683051). Or Madame Martis & Mountain Sushi , scheduled for Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December, 11.00 am, at Maso Martis in Martignano di Trento. In this case, the visit to the vineyard will be combined with a tasting of Madame Martis Limited Edition Dosaggio Zero 2010 and a Magnum Madame Martis Brut Riserva 2010, accompanied by a box of 10 pieces of mountain sushi prepared by chef Daniele Tomasi of the Innesti Restaurant of Pergine Valsugana.
The night of the lit stills in Santa Messere : in this small village in the Valle dei Laghi , in addition to a splendid market set up in the town's outskirts, the Night of the lit stills takes place from 7 to 10 December. A truly original event: groups of participants equipped with radio headphones, guided by the narrative voice of Patrizio Roversi, will immerse themselves in the town's distilleries in a succession of stages including Casimiro, Francesco Poli, Giovanni Poli and Maxentia. Inside them, the magic of a show dedicated to the stories and curiosities of artisanal grappa , also offered for tasting. And then off we go, all together in the central square for the last great toast. Hurry to book, because places fill up quickly. Also unmissable in the area is a visit to the Casa Caveau del Vino Santo di Padergnone (open by reservation), a tribute to this excellence of the area, a walk along Lake Toblino with a view of its marvelous castle, followed by a lunch at the Hosteria Toblino , where traditional cuisine meets the creativity of chef Sebastian Sartorelli. To stay in the surrounding area, one idea is the welcoming Hotel Lillà in Terlago , with an unmissable dinner with all the taste of Trentino at the nearby Osteria Ca' dei Giosi .
Winter walks : the walk that leads from Passo Vezzena to Pizzo di Levico is easy, panoramic and satisfying: in case of snow, prepare your snowshoes! From there, the view over the Valsugana below is breathtaking, with the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico and the Dolomites in the background framing the landscape. And after the effort, it's time to satisfy the palate too: the right stop is in the nearby Malga Millegrobbe , where you can enjoy an aperitif while savoring traditional Vezzena cheese or a typical dinner. The structure also houses a small but welcoming wellness center and rooms characterized by larch wood, for an overnight stay that smells of real mountains.
