“ Our Association has been involved and collaborates in the realization of this initiative for years ” says the President Stefano Chiarlo “ It is a tour of the Unesco hills during which it is possible to visit the cellars in the presence of the producers who will present the various Nizza and Nizza Reserve DOCG. A precious opportunity to make the territory, the denomination and the individual production realities known to wine enthusiasts ”.
The Nizza Producers Association therefore collaborates in the implementation of the initiative together with other partners: the city of Nizza Monferrato, the Consortium of Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato wines under the patronage of the Alessandria-Asti Chamber of Commerce.
The event is open to the public and each participant is free to move with the means they prefer (on foot, by bicycle, by motorbike or by car) and according to their personal itinerary, independently choosing the cellars they wish to visit. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know 35 realities adhering to the initiative: in addition to the 34 producers of the Nizza Docg denomination, as they are present in the Nizza Producers Association, the Berta Distilleries also participate, producers of grappa starting from Nizza Docg pomace . It is a splendid opportunity to visit vineyards and cellars, having a direct exchange with the producers, tasting Nizza Docg combined with typical local products. A way to fully experience and enjoy the flavor of the territory.
The novelty of the eleventh edition of the event is the GiroMerenda , an itinerary scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday 22 April, which envisages passing through four significant places within the 18 municipalities of Nice, where, together with a glass of wine, it will be tasted a local product.
In addition, the AperiNizza will take place on Friday 21 April at the Foro Boario in Nizza Monferrato from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm. On this occasion it will be possible to taste all the thirty-four Nizza Docg wines from the producers participating in the Tour of Nice and to taste typical local products, located in seven tasting areas, together with guest products.
Furthermore, the PreGiro tradition continues which involves, before and after the Giro del Nizza, some wineries, particularly linked to the event, which offer the Nizza Docg wines of all the producers who take part in the event for tasting.
