Yesterday, Sunday 12 March, at the Cantine Martinelli di Mezzocorona, the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino celebrated its first ten years.

We are delighted with the great participation in this appointment – commented Sergio Valentini, President of the Associationwhich has proved to be an excellent opportunity to meet, discuss and find points of contact for future synergies. An event that we wanted to dedicate, in particular, to our historical partners – he continued - , ie those who have supported us since the beginning of this process, who are over 200 out of a total of 300. An important number, which rewards the work we do every day and our great commitment ”.

Giulia Zanotelli, Councilor for Agriculture of the Autonomous Province of Trento , was present at the meeting. , joining forces and tracing the path resulting from the new regulation on wine tourism. “ Despite the moment – he continued – there is still a great desire to invest, in terms of technological, process and product innovation, a sign that the territory is alive, strong and wants to look to its future ”. Finally, in thanking the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori for the work it is carrying out, he recalled the construction project of the Strada del Gusto, which will have to continue to establish relationships with all the realities that revolve around the sector because " only united we will really be able to bring out the strength of Trentino even outside the borders of the province ”.

The Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino is the result of the merger, in 2013, of the five previous Strade del Vino born between 2003 and 2008 on the wave of the LP 10/2001. “ A will – as Francesco Antoniolli recalled, who at the time helped guide this process together with the other Presidents of the Roads of the various territories and then held the position of President of the unified Association for 8 years – started from the bottom due to the need to unite forces and improve more and more the offer of the territory. The hope is to go even further and have, as the councilor said, a single road throughout the province. A passage that will not make you lose recognition in the area but will actually gain the ability to present yourself both internally and externally ”. After all, he concluded “ The Wine Roads were born more than twenty years ago and yet they are an ever more topical product all over the world ”.

The other founders of the Association also demonstrate their closeness: from Carlo Filiberto Bleggi, to Paolo Malfer up to Rosario Pilati , still today an active member of the Central Management Committee as Vice-President. “ I lived the years of growth - said Pilati - and today I live those of synergy with the various subjects that revolve around wine. Our proposal must become another fundamental pillar of the Trentino tourist offer, alongside that of the mountains and lakes. In this sense – he concluded – the training course for members that we have been carrying out for some time is also fundamental, aimed at increasing knowledge of the productions and product culture more and more ”.

At the conclusion of the speeches, Senator Pietro Patton, President of the Trentino Wine Consortium recalled how the Trentino Wine and Flavors Route has been able to set an example of what it means to get going and work without waiting for what can come from others and the commitment that the companies have put into it and the loyalty to the association testify that to achieve success you have to believe in it and do your part. “ By now – he continued – the real challenge of the sector is not so much that of having quality products, which is now guaranteed, but rather offering an adequate welcome to the tourist who comes to visit the area, since it is an element that can really make the difference ”.

With an average of over 180 event days a year, among those organized and shared, it is easy to calculate the great dynamism of the association, which over time has also given life to innovative and much appreciated formats, such as the appointments DOC-Cinematographic Designation of Origin , which combined food and wine tasting with watching a film in the cellars of the area, or the Castelli DiVini , which made the castles of Trentino the protagonists at sunset, combining the tastings with classical music concerts. But also the much appreciated Gemme di gusto and DiVin Ottobre , reviews of initiatives scheduled for the weekends of May and October to celebrate spring and autumn respectively.

Without forgetting the projects related to food and wine tourism, created to satisfy the growing number of wine & food lovers visiting our area. In fact, for some years now, the Trentino Wine and Flavors Route has launched Trips and Tasteful Experiences : holiday packages or single-day offers – to be experienced on foot, by bike or by train – which combine a visit to productive realities with the discovery of cultural and/or naturalistic sites and stops in restaurants and accommodation facilities.

In terms of representation, of the over 300 members, 26.8% are wineries, distilleries and breweries; 19.6% gastronomic producers and 18.7% restaurants. Followed by accommodation facilities, wine bars and shops, institutions, museums and institutions and municipalities . The current territory of competence covers approximately 4,000 square kilometers which correspond to 80% of the provincial area.
