In a small village on the Friulian plain, member of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy , a stone's throw from the sea and the UNESCO towns of Aquileia and Palmanova , two of the oldest castles in Friuli Venezia Giulia are hidden: the twin castles of Strassoldo di Sopra and Below . The authentic patina and charm that surround the complex are today preserved and enhanced with love by the same family who built the site more than a thousand years ago. Among the various initiatives proposed, the "Magici Intrecci" exhibitions of high craftsmanship and nursery work which have been held at the castle of Strassoldo di Sopra in spring and autumn since 1998, have acquired an excellent reputation among enthusiasts of the sector at a national level, but also in Austria and Slovenia.
The next appointment is therefore for "Magici Intrecci Autunnali", which will be held on 13 October 2023 (from 2pm to 7pm), on 14 and 15 October 2023 (from 9am to 7pm): it will be the fiftieth time that the manor will transform its halls and its gardens in an exceptional setting for artisans, nurserymen and small, highly selected organic agricultural producers from all over Italy . Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a wonderful world of history, art, beauty, flavors and passion and experience real magic, which is repeated punctually every six months, each time with many new features.
The evocative itinerary of the event will combine history, creativity, passion and natural beauty and will unfold through the ancestral halls of the two floors of the main building, the enchanted gardens and the hidden corners of the castle complex . Here, the visitor will find strictly artisanal products : from furnishings to jewellery, from unique artisan garments to works of art. It will also be the perfect opportunity to look for Christmas gifts that can't be found everywhere. The ancient Brolo , flooded with warm autumn colors and surrounded by resurgence waterways , will instead be the stage for nurserymen with particular and rare plants and for gastronomic delicacies . It will be possible to find furnishings for the home and garden, clothes, jewels, high-end costume jewellery, hats, bags of all shapes, lamps, garments worked on the loom and dyed with medicinal herbs, men's and women's shoes, ties, butterflies, Friulian ties with embroidery and crystals, paintings, antique and second-hand objects, organic cosmetics, perfumes for the environment and the person, phytotherapeutic preparations, dried organic fruit and vegetables, soy and beeswax candles, sculptures, creations in wire, wicker , paper, glass, iron, wood, ceramic and much more.
In the ancient orchard dressed in warm autumnal shades there will be nurserymen with particular and rare plants . There will be no shortage of delights for the palate , such as particular breads, delicious chocolates, glazed cakes, creams, biscuits and pastries, chutneys, first fruits from the garden, compounds based on cultivated chillies, jams, flower and herb grappas, honey, prosecco and wines award-winning, Umbrian extra virgin olive oil, Franciacorta cheeses and real balsamic vinegar from Modena. Along the route there will be three small refreshment points. As a corollary there will be various pleasant collateral initiatives.
The appointment with "Magici Intrecci" presents itself as an oasis out of time, a special retreat, a pleasant meeting opportunity to fill up on positive energy. In fact it is more than a simple exhibition: it is a melting pot of activity and a balm for the soul, a moment to rediscover serenity and positivity .
