Red Wine in summer? Just lower the temperature of service: "Cool Chianti: enjoy it at 16 degrees" to discover a new way of drinking
Chianti in summer is drunk at 16 degrees, the project designed by the Chianti Wine Consortium (www.consorziovinochianti.it), exceeds the rigidity that sees red wine suitable to winter because the serving temperature must be corrected as the climate of the cellar.
At 16 degrees you can discover pleasantness, freshness of fragrance and aromas that are released when you sip a glass.
On 11th June, the second edition of "Chianti ... Enjoy it Cool!" takes place: a beautiful bracelet will be the thermometer of Chianti which is a candidate to become the coolest object of summer, to educate on the proper consumption of red wine even in the hot summer months.
The initiative aims to launch a new way of drinking Chianti: a product with distinctive features as only Sangiovese di Toscana can be, a young and fragrant wine, of contemporary style.
’Chianti ... Enjoy it Cool!’ in Rome
Many will be opportunities to join the initiative for a month in Rome:
–Wine shops and wine bars participating in the project will set up a showcase for the occasion
–60 Restaurants that participate in the project will offer the delicious opportunity to sample some of the recipes of Roman cuisine in combination with cool Chianti.
This spread has been possible thanks to the collaboration with Co.Vi.Ro., Arte dei Vinattieri, Accademia della Cultura Gastronomica and Associazione Ristoranti Confesercenti Roma.

Chianti is a young wine, fresh, perfect in aperitif style, an exceptional guest for dinner but also a fierce competitor in professional contests. Chianti is all this and the Consortium is working on that to try to know more about this intriguing and immense wine–making reality, through actions of promotion of the designation aimed both to trade and to the public».
