Chianti Classico will accompany the speakers and the audience of the “The State of the Union” international conference, organized in Florence in the next days (7th/8th and 9th May) by the European University Institute.

Forty–four speakers of excellence have already confirmed their presence for “The State of the Union”, the great conference waiting for the next round of European elections, and the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium will be present to toast to Europe. In effect, the wines of the Chianti Classico Consortium will be offered in all the events scheduled on the last day of the big event. To close the event, a tasting of the excellences of Gallo Nero for all guests of the conference to be held in the armory room of Palazzo Vecchio, on the evening of May 9th.

There are many various personalities present at the conference: José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Stefania Giannini, Minister of Education, University and Research; Sylvie Kauffmann, the editorial director of Le Monde; Federica Mogherini, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mario Monti, former Prime Minister; Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission; Matteo Renzi, President of the Council of Ministers. The conference will close with a debate on 9th May in Florence, held in the extraordinary presence of the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, and with a tasting of some of the best food and wine in the Florence area, including precisely the Chianti Classico Gallo Nero.
