For the 23rd time, from 12 to 14 June the wine towns of Egna and Montagna in South Tyrol set the stage for the event that crowns the best Pinot Noirs in Italy. " Seeing one of the first events dedicated to wine in Italy taking place after the months that have just passed makes the Pinot Noir Days 2021 an event even more felt and participated in " - says Ines Giovanett , President of the Pinot Nero Alto Adige Association. " We are enthusiastic and proud to see producers and winemakers from all over Italy who with their work pay homage every day to this highly prized vine on this stage. "
The program, which this year will include tastings and masterclasses in full compliance with the anti Covid legislation as well as the first edition of the "Pinot Nero Master", a competition organized by the Italian Sommelier Association AIS, will open on Saturday 12 June with the awarding of the TOP10. of the Pinot Nero National Competition, the results of which have been announced today. A ranking of the highest quality that rewards the South Tyrolean and Aostan production but at the same time reaffirms how much the Pinot Noir Days have over time become the celebratory moment par excellence of this prestigious grape variety.
" Pinot noir from Aosta, Alto Adige and Trentino made it to the final. In terms of points, the finalist wines - in particular the TOP10 - are very close to each other, demonstrating that the competition is characterized by a level of extremely high quality ", says Ines Giovanett summarizing the verdict of the jury made up of 35 winemakers from all over Italy who tasted and evaluated all the wines blindly and in different sequences. 95 wine producers involved in the Competition from 10 regions (Trentino-Alto Adige, Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria and Abruzzo) who presented their 2018 vintage of Pinot Noir, a number never reached before.
