Trumpets will ring for fans of Teroldego Rotaliano - always known as the "Prince of Trentino wines" - gathered from 17 to 19 September in the "most beautiful vine garden in Europe" by Cesare Battisti to celebrate the 30th edition of “Discovering Teroldego” .
After the forced stop in 2020, due to the health emergency, the event - organized by the Pro Loco of Mezzocorona with the support of Trentino Marketing and the coordination of the Trentino Wine and Flavors Route, as part of the promotion of wine events provincial called #trentinowinefest - returns to the limelight celebrating, among other things, not only its first 30 years but also the milestone of 50 years of obtaining the DOC for Teroldego Rotaliano .
An event that, year after year, offers the public an increasingly qualifying offer and designed for winelovers and lovers of Trentino oenology, thanks to a calendar full of important initiatives and events .
During the weekend, in fact, wine bars and dedicated insights will follow one another, such as the masterclass of ONAV (National Organization of Wine Tasters), the one conducted by Eros Teboni (elected best sommelier in the world in 2018 by the Worldwide Sommelier Association) and the one by Edmund Mach Foundation .
Do not miss the tastings with the producers , the meetings with the TeRoldeGo Evolution (a group founded in 2016 by young wine producers of the Piana Rotaliana to make Teroldego better known) and with ANAG (National Association of Grappa Tasters). And how not to mention the gastronomic proposals of excellence, entrusted in this case to the restaurateurs of the territory, the cocktail bar with grappa mixed in original creations, and the musical accompaniment selected for the occasion.
To enrich the weekend, also the possibility of visiting buildings and historical places usually not accessible, including the aforementioned Palazzo Martini and Palazzo Firmian. Without forgetting the space dedicated to art, with the exhibition by Maurizio Boscheri and Daniel Calovi.
To precede the enoweekend, starting from 20 August, there will also be " Waiting for September Rotaliano ", four weekends of entertainment in which Palazzo Martini will be animated by local associations, with always different food proposals combined, of course, with glasses of Teroldego Rotaliano.
And to taste this inimitable Trentino red even outside the territory of the Piana Rotaliana, the festival will, as usual, be accompanied by the review A tutto Teroldego (tastetrentino.it/atuttoteroldego), scheduled from 16 to 26 September , with open cellars, initiatives themed, special menus and taste experiences - such as itineraries in stages with visits to producers - from Lake Garda to Giudicarie, from the Paganella plateau to Valsugana, from Trento and Rovereto.
Event profile
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Mezzocorona with the support of Trentino Marketing and the coordination of the Trentino Wine and Flavors Route as part of the promotion of provincial wine events called #trentinowinefest, but also with the fundamental help of numerous volunteers and the support of local institutions and sponsors.
Teroldego Rotaliano profile
Teroldego Rotaliano is an indigenous wine that grows in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana, a small patch of land north of Trento that extends for 450 hectares between Mezzocorona, Mezzolombardo and San Michele all'Adige. It is an important wine with an unmistakable class, which has always been defined as the "prince of Trentino wines". With an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, of different intensity depending on the aging of the wine, it has a very fruity aroma that recalls very ripe berries such as blackberry, blueberry and raspberry. The taste is as fine as it is powerful, slightly tannic, mineral and lively, the flavor is dry, savory and with a perfect balance between pleasantness and concentration.
