Promote the iconic product of the shores of Lake Garda, along with its chosen territory, on a journey punctuated by aromas, flavors, and ancient knowledge, following the green thread of Garda DOP olive oil.
This is the aim of the 9th edition of WardaGarda , an event promoted by the Garda DOP Oil Consortium in collaboration with the Municipality of Cavaion Veronese and the Pro Loco of Cavaion Veronese.
A festival aimed at enthusiasts and tourists curious to discover the quality and authenticity of Garda extra virgin olive oil, its production area, and the fascinating scenery of the lands overlooking the lake, framed by the same olive groves that are both protagonists and silent witnesses to the profound connection between Garda DOP oil and the Lake Garda area.
An indissoluble union celebrated in the very name of the event: Warda , in fact, is the Lombard word from which the toponym Garda derives. A term that captures the soul of these lands, whose origins stem from the ancient fortresses that once watched over the hills surrounding the lake. The same heights that, for centuries, have welcomed and protected the olive trees and the producers who tend them, offering the world an oil that is the pure essence of the territory.
On Saturday 13 September , from 5pm to 8.30pm , Casa Berengario , headquarters of the Protection Consortium, will welcome guests wishing to deepen their knowledge of Garda DOP oil , the symbol of Lake Garda, appreciated for its characteristics of delicacy, balance and typical almond aftertaste.
There are five events on Saturday, September 13th: from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, every 30 minutes, there will be a " Visit to the Olive Park with a guided tasting of Garda DOP olive oil" organized by the Consortium, an immersive experience among olive trees, flavors, and aromas of the area.
At each meeting, different food and wine pairings will be presented, featuring Garda oil: at 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm, the tasting will feature the “Merenda gardesana” ( Garda Snack), while at 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm, and 7:00 pm , the meeting will focus on the “Aperitivo del Garda” (Garda Aperitif).
Furthermore, throughout the event, the producers' market will also be open, with the possibility of tasting and purchasing Garda DOP oil, allowing all visitors to take home the lake's iconic product.
At the end of the day, an aperitif will be offered to all participants.
