Four new awards in the Gambero Rosso 2026/27 Italian Olive Oil Guide, including the Special Prize for “Best Light Fruity Olive Oil in Italy”.

The 2026 Gambero Rosso awards
The new edition of Gambero Rosso's 2026/27 Italian Olive Oil Guide brings with it a quadruple of satisfaction for Frantoio Bonamini, which receives three awards , in addition to the 2026 Special Prize for "Best Light Fruity Olive Oil in Italy," awarded to the Grignano Monocultivar.
A result that goes beyond organoleptic evaluation and reflects a journey built over time: agronomic attention, consistent production choices, and a constant connection with the territory.
Grignano stands out: an oil made from a native cultivar from the Illasi Valley, crafted purely, expressing freshness, balance, and a natural harmony on the palate. This achievement earned it both the Special Prize and the Three Leaves, the Guide's highest accolade.
Additionally, Campo di Casa has earned the Two Red Leaves award , recognized for its best quality/price ratio. It comes from the olive grove surrounding the mill, where different varieties have coexisted for decades: a balance that results in a smooth, rounded, and immediate oil. The DOP Veneto Valpolicella, awarded Two Leaves, completes the picture. This oil directly represents the Veronese terroir, with a delicate and elegant style, designed to complement dishes without overpowering them.

"These important awards aren't tied to individual products, but to a continuous effort that starts in the olive grove and ends in the bottle. Receiving the award for Best Light Fruity means having found a precise balance, which must be respected." - Giancarlo Bonamini , owner and master olive grower of Frantoio Bonamini

The awards ceremony will be held on Friday, June 19th in Naples. Frantoio Bonamini will be present with a tasting stand during the day dedicated to the excellence of the Italian olive oil sector and connected to the official presentation of the Guide.

The 2026/27 Italian Oil Guide
Now in its sixteenth edition , Gambero Rosso's Guida Oli d'Italia is among the most authoritative references for the national olive oil scene . Each year, a panel of expert tasters selects hundreds of Italian companies, evaluating 100% Italian extra virgin olive oils on the market. The evaluation system is based on the iconic "leaves," ranging from one to three, which recognize quality, production technique, and stylistic consistency. The Two Red Leaves also recognize the best oils for their quality/price ratio.
The volume is rounded out with "oil locations" by region, with information on agritourism and catering establishments linked to the olive oil sector.
