MARKETS, CONSUMPTION, AND INNOVATION: THE FUTURE OF WINE AT THE CENTER OF THE CONFERENCE “COMMON ROOTS, NEW CHALLENGES” ORGANIZED BY CANTINA RAUSCEDO.

The conference "Common Roots, New Challenges" concluded today as part of the "Le Radici del Vino" event. This moment of discussion and reflection brought together leading voices from the world of wine, economics, and international promotion to explore the key challenges facing the wine sector today, from shifts in consumption to market developments, and the increasingly strategic role of sustainability and innovation.

“This conference was an important opportunity to share who we are and the values that guide our cooperative's daily work,” says Antonio Zuliani , President of Cantina Rauscedo. “In a time when markets are experiencing contraction and profound transformation, our strength lies in our ability to continue investing in technology, sustainability, and quality, while always maintaining a firm awareness of our identity. We are a community of men and women working toward a common goal, sharing responsibilities, skills, and vision. We operate in harmony with nature, never against it, because Rauscedo wine is born first and foremost from the land and the vineyard. It is from these roots that we continue to build our future.”

Throughout the conference, prominent speakers took turns on stage to offer insights into the dynamics affecting the wine sector both nationally and internationally. The discussion began with a remote presentation by Matteo Zoppas , President of ICE-Agenzia, who explored the role of exports, international promotion, and the quality of Friulian wines as ambassadors of Italian winemaking excellence worldwide. This was followed by presentations by Denis Pantini , Head of Agrifood and Wine Monitor at Nomisma, who analyzed the evolution of consumption and global markets, and by Alessio Planeta , a leading figure in contemporary Italian winemaking, who shared a reflection on the relationship between territorial identity, innovation, and competitiveness. There was also space for the topic of communication and the perceived value of wine with the contribution of Master of Wine Gabriele Gorelli and the Best Sommelier of Italy AIS 2023 Cristian Maitan , while Flavio Geretto , General Manager of Cantina Rauscedo, and Yuri Zambon , Technical and Commercial Director of Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo, brought the experience of the Rauscedo system as a model capable of integrating production, research, innovation and cooperation.

The contributions highlighted how the current context requires adaptability, strategic vision, and organizational models capable of combining competitiveness, sustainability, and personal development. The conference also confirmed the role of cooperation as a tool capable of generating value along the entire supply chain, fostering shared investment, qualitative growth, and a greater ability to respond to market needs.

“In this time of declining consumption, the answer can only be to produce what the market demands, always in harmony with our production vocation and with the identity that has always distinguished Cantina Rauscedo ,” underlines Flavio Geretto, General Manager of Cantina Rauscedo. The value of our cooperative lies in its ability to promptly interpret changes thanks to the contribution of its members, who represent the company's true asset and our primary observatory of the region. For this reason, we carefully monitor new consumer trends, identifying development opportunities that can enhance our products without distorting their essence. In this process, the Friuli DOC represents an important tool: a modern and versatile designation, capable of meeting market demands and promoting the region's winemaking identity. Looking to the future, we envision a reality increasingly characterized by two complementary souls, that of bulk wine and that of bottles: two faces of the same company, united by the same philosophy and a single guiding principle: quality. It is on this balance between innovation, adaptability, and respect for our roots that we intend to build our growth in the coming years.
