The sixth edition of "Vite in Campo – Uomini e macchine per una viticoltura sostenibile" (Vite in Campo – Men and machines for sustainable viticulture), the event that will liven up Susegana (TV) on 18 and 19 July, opened yesterday evening, Wednesday 25 June, with a highly topical conference.

The opening conference, held at the Palazzo dello Sport M. Montagner in Salgareda (TV), focused on the theme "Climate change: new opportunities in the management of vine adversities" . Industry experts explored the critical issues in the vineyard system and phytosanitary emergencies related to the changing climate. The importance of forecasting models to support decisions in vineyard management and the use of drones and robots for monitoring and defense were discussed. The debate closed the evening, highlighting how knowledge and optimization of production systems are fundamental weapons for the competitiveness of Italian agricultural companies.

"Vite in Campo is committed to advancing sustainability, understood as support for the environment, the economy and business continuity, allowing farmers to actively participate in the construction of innovations in the sector based on their needs. - underlined Valerio Nadal, president of Condifesa TVBClimate change, in fact, has become a constant, no longer an exception. The good agronomic practices and mechanization that we will present at Vite in Campo will allow us to reduce the use of chemicals, also working with a view to safety, a determining factor for our agricultural companies ".

"The historic newspaper L'Informatore Agrario has been collaborating with the TVB Defense Consortium for years to organize this day, with the aim of giving an even more national value to the event because we believe that training is fundamental today. - continued Antonio Boschetti, director of L'Informatore Agrario - The only competitive weapon that Italian companies have is not their size or production costs but the ability to optimize production systems, technologies and marketing, reaching the markets with a higher added value than many other competitors. Knowledge is the only competitive weapon that can lead to success for Italian agriculture and Vite in Campo is a system for spreading knowledge that is integrated with the magazines that we have been publishing since 1945, with meetings in the area, with conferences like the one tonight and with training courses. A program that helps spread the knowledge that will serve to keep our agricultural companies competitive ."

"Vite in Campo is a very important event, because we have the opportunity to provide local producers with all the innovations and technological innovations, trying to provide answers to the new challenges that climate change imposes today. - concluded Franco Passador, president and CEO of the Vi.VO Cantine Group - Technology for the agricultural sector, and winemaking in particular, is very important today, just think that, as Vi.VO Cantine, we normally press just under a million quintals of grapes. In the last two harvest campaigns, 2023 and 2024, we managed to process over 50% of this volume in 10 working days. Without technology, these answers cannot be provided; and farmers demonstrate that they appreciate technology, just consider that today the harvest is done 90% mechanically, therefore with a lot of speed, a lot of timing and a lot of technology ".

The key days of the event will be July 18 and 19 , entirely dedicated to innovation and technology; at the Conte Collalto farm in Susegana (TV) many cutting-edge machines and tools for viticulture will be presented, with particular attention paid to the objective measurement of the effectiveness of sprayers, essential for optimizing treatments and reducing product consumption. Doubts about the effectiveness of the use of drones in agriculture will be dispelled and ample space will be dedicated to robotics, with autonomous machines capable of carrying out various mechanical managements, from phytosanitary treatments to the management of the under-row and the canopy.

The Vite in Campo program also includes guided tours in the field, led by journalists from L'Informatore Agrario and technicians from Condifesa TVB, both on the afternoon of Friday 18 July (from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm) and on the morning of Saturday 19 July (from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm).

In particular, on Friday 18 July, from 18:30 to 20:30, in the council chamber of the Municipality of Susegana, a workshop will be held focusing on the tools and technical means useful for monitoring vine nutrition in light of climate change.

On Saturday 19th July, at 11:00, dynamic demonstrations of the use of drones in operational activities for protection and nutrition are planned.

A program that consolidates Vite in Campo as a reference event for the entire agricultural sector, a unique opportunity to discover the latest frontiers of sustainable viticulture and to interact with experts in the sector, with the aim of making agricultural companies increasingly resilient and competitive.
