Wine and Spirituality

"They have no wine" (Jn 2,1–11) is the expression that recalls unequivocally Jesus’ first miracle: the transformation of water into wine.

Maybe it is a bit coloured, but we believe it is not a coincidence that the first miracle has wine as protagonist and takes place during a party.

Grapes with its branches, as well as the vineyard, recur frequently in the Scripture. Therefore, once, let us talk about wine and spirituality, a seemingly risky combination, but that has its roots in the Scripture, in the liturgy.



Led by Don Angelo Nigro, young parish priest of Ghiffa and priest of the world, who will illustrate the words of the Bible with profound wisdom and spirituality, and by Mr. Guido Invernizzi, famous AIS speaker and expert in the history of viticulture and oenology in the world, we will follow a historical–wine–spiritual path to the discovery of the reasons why this drink is a matter of great importance for the history of man.

During the evening wines that come from the lands of the Old Testament will be tasted, and we will sit around a table to share a dish proposed by the chef of the venue hosting the event.

Part of the proceeds of the evening will be donated to the ASSIST FOR PEACE project by Don Angelo and Father Raed, which involves the construction of a sports center, a playground and a sports museum in the Old City of Jerusalem open to all children, regardless of religion or faith. A difficult to achieve dream that is becoming reality thanks to the contribution of athletes, show business personalities and supporters of peace and integration of peoples.
