10:30 am Veneto Classic Method Masterclass: Identity, Territory, and Vision Six sparkling wines for tasting with Cristian Maitan - Best Sommelier in Italy (2023)
An in-depth look at the Classic Method in Veneto, understood as an authentic expression of producers, territories, and grape varieties. The masterclass analyzes how the method of secondary fermentation in the bottle, applied to different grapes and contexts, gives rise to distinct yet clearly recognizable stylistic interpretations. From the historically suited hills to the cooler areas, the central role of agronomic and oenological choices, time on the lees, and production vision in defining precise identities emerges.
12.30 pm Case Vecie Masterclass: Time as a Value A vertical tasting of six vintages (2000, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2018) of Case Vecie Amarone della Valpolicella presented by Cristian Maitan - Best Sommelier of Italy (2023)
A historic vertical tasting of Amarone della Valpolicella that places time at the center of winemaking, not simply as a factor of evolution but as a tool for understanding style. The Case Vecie cru is analyzed across several vintages to highlight the wine's evolution, production consistency, and deep connection to the terroir, while also highlighting a modern interpretation of Amarone, focused on balance, precision, and drinkability.
2.30pm Masterclass: Forgotten Vines: Veneto Resurfaces. A tasting of six representative wines with Michele Manca - Best Sommelier of Veneto (2022).
A journey through historic grape varieties and minor varietals that risked oblivion and are now making a comeback thanks to the work of sensitive and knowledgeable producers. The masterclass explores the cultural and identity value of these grapes, analyzing their qualitative potential and their contribution to building a more diverse, authentic, and deeply rooted Veneto wine region.
4.30 pm Masterclass: The tradition of Bordeaux blending in Veneto. A tasting of six representative wines with Alberto Toffanello - Best Sommelier of Veneto (2025).
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Bordeaux-inspired blends are reinterpreted through the lens of the Veneto region, highlighting how internationally renowned grape varieties have developed an independent and recognizable identity. The masterclass explores the dialogue between soils, climate, and production choices, demonstrating how these components contribute to defining mature and balanced expressive styles. This comparison highlights the shift from established models to a consciously local language, capable of expressing the Veneto region with precision and personality.
