TURIN VERMOUTH CONSORTIUM | THE TURIN PGI VERMOUTH TASTING EVENT RETURNS ON JANUARY 23

Following the success of the 2025 edition, another major "Vermouth di Torino... in Turin" event is planned for the city in early 2026, kicking off the new year's activities. It premiered in 2019, when the newly established Consorzio del Vermouth di Torino (Vermouth di Torino Consortium) conceived a Turin-specific event to highlight the origins of this Piedmontese delicacy. The event has thus become a long-awaited and enjoyable start to the year.

The event is scheduled for Friday, January 23, starting at 10:30 a.m., at the AIS Piemonte headquarters, Via Modena 23, Turin. It will be a very special occasion, offering the opportunity to participate in the largest tasting of Vermouth di Torino ever held. It is the only event in Turin dedicated entirely to Vermouth di Torino PGI , and the only one organized exclusively by the Consorzio del Vermouth di Torino in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS). Its members represent 85% of production, which includes historic, world-renowned brands as well as new, top-notch producers.

The Consortium Members, forming an extraordinary and unique team, will offer tastings of the various brands and labels presented, the fruit of the creative interpretations of their Master Formulators. The format will be a walk-around tasting, during which, after choosing what you'd like to taste, you can meet the producers in person, exchange impressions, or request information. Simultaneously, in the room adjacent to the tasting room, a series of short talks, roundtables, and concise seminars will be held, providing interesting updates on the latest developments in the Geographical Indication and on some current issues regarding Vermouth di Torino PGI, the only vermouth to boast PGI recognition.

In extending his invitation to participate in this very special day , Consortium President Bruno Malavasi stated: "It is with great pleasure that we renew this year's event with "Vermouth di Torino... in Turin," which now takes on even greater significance following the important recognition received from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry. MASAF has entrusted our Consortium with the task of protecting, enhancing, and promoting Italy's first aromatized wine with a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), an expression of Piedmontese tradition and Italian winemaking. This will certainly be the perfect opportunity to share our satisfaction with this remarkable achievement, but above all to discuss the many opportunities available to continue promoting this national excellence.
