THE VERNACCIA WINE CONSORTIUM OF SAN GIMIGNANO IS OFFERING ITS NEW WINE TASTING FORMAT FROM 2024

Time for changes for the Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine consortium: in 2024 the historic white wine from Tuscany will present the new vintages to the press in a technical tasting hosted within the second edition of " REGINA RIBELLE - VERNACCIA DI SAN GIMIGNANO WINE FEST" , an event whose premiere in June 2023 achieved considerable success in terms of attendance, with over two thousand tasting tickets sold to wine lovers and sector operators. “ Regina Ribelle Wine Fest wants to represent the reference event for Vernaccia di San Gimignano, with the aim of describing the denomination itself and its entire territory at 360 degrees. The choice of late spring falls into the desire to present the vintage Vernacce di San Gimignano no longer in February on the occasion of the Tuscan Previews, but in a period in which they are at the best of their expression and potential. In addition to this, the desire is to also make the territory live in the most complete way possible. It will be a very wide-ranging event, which also aims to remember the candidacy of the city of San Gimignano itself as a European city of wine, a city that has been talking about wine with its Vernaccia di San Gimignano since 1276", said President Irina Strozzi comments on the news. And here are the official dates: Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May 2024 the city of San Gimignano will host Italian and foreign journalists from the sector, engaged in tasting the new vintages and in a press tour of the area, as well as in the gala dinner, which will take place held in the evocative cloister of Sant'Agostino, and in a scientific conference that will involve speakers of national caliber on current issues in the world of wine. On the weekend of 25 and 26 May , the event will open to the general public, with the producers' desks located in the city squares and activities aimed at tasting and learning about Vernaccia di San Gimignano - White Queen in a land of Red Kings - and of its producers. Shows are planned in the square and an evening of entertainment at the Rocca di Montestaffoli.
