The Premiere of the Alta Langa 2023: Monday 8 May at the Reggia di Venaria

The Prima dell'Alta Langa 2023 will be held next Monday 8 May, from 9.30 to 18.30, inside the eighteenth-century Galleria Grande of the Reggia di Venaria.

The great tasting of Alta Langa wines currently on the market is organized by the Alta Langa Consortium and is reserved for an audience of professional operators : buyers, wine merchants, restaurateurs, professional sommeliers, distributors, barmen, journalists. Registrations will open on the Consortium website (www.altalangadocg.com) in the next few days.

This is the fifth edition of the event: the first two editions were held at the Castle of Grinzane, in the spring of 2018 and in that of 2019. In autumn 2019 an edition was held in Milan, at Palazzo Serbelloni, and in June last one in Turin, inside the Italdesign private museum where the iconic "Terra" glass was presented.

"Year after year, edition after edition, the event of the Alta Langa Consortium grows and is enriched, as does our team: if in the first edition of 2018 there were 18 producers present at the event, with around 40 labels for tasting, the last year in Turin there were 46 of us with 115 different wines.The Prima dell'Alta Langa confirms itself as an opportunity to be able to taste a very wide selection of Piedmontese high bubbles, meet the producers and come into full contact with the spirit of a denomination in clear growth, in Italy and beyond" comments Mariacristina Castelletta , president of the Alta Langa Consortium.

ALTA LANGA DOCG: SOUL OF A TERRITORY - The Consortium has been carrying out various initiatives in recent months. Yesterday, in the Palazzo Banca d'Alba, the "Alta Langa DOCG: soul of a territory" project was also presented, which will involve some of the most important sommeliers from Turin, Milan and Genoa. These are the first three stages of a journey in which the Alta Langa DOCG will be told in its vocation as a "gastronomic wine" in combination with the specialties of the chefs of the historic trattorias of the highlands of the Langa. Seated around a table, in a convivial atmosphere of exchange and comparison, the guests of these events will be guided in the discovery of the Piedmontese High Bubbles and the most authentic flavors of the Alta Langa and will meet some of the most representative hosts of the spirit of this territory. In the first three appointments they will be involved alongside the Piemassimo Cirio Consortium (Trattoria Madonna della Neve, Cessole), Gemma Boeri (Osteria da Gemma di Roddino) and Vilma Forneris (La Vecchia Osteria di Castellino Tanaro).

" Faced with the growth of the denomination, the Consortium continues its assumption of responsibility towards the territory of origin and at the same time adopts wider-ranging actions that allow the authenticity and beauty of the Alta Langa to be known through the key of gastronomic reading: involving in this journey the historic taverns of the high lands, essence and presidium of the territory, is a great pride for us" says the director of the Alta Langa Consortium , Paolo Rossino .

Even in the choice of these gastronomic destinations there is a value of sustainability. What the Consortium intends to share with the guests of the appointments between Turin, Milan and Genoa - in the Savoyard atmospheres as in a terrace where you can breathe the scent of the sea - is the sense of well-being, pleasure, contentment that only these hosts know give.
