Autumn on Lake Maggiore once again takes on the colors of wine with the eighth edition of Taste Alto Piemonte , the most important event dedicated to the Alto Piemonte denominations, scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2025, in the timeless setting of the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées in Stresa.
Organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte , the event confirms its position as a benchmark for the promotion of a region that combines unique landscapes, winemaking tradition, and a rare and elegant winemaking identity. For two days, the splendid halls of the Grand Hotel will welcome over fifty producers , ambassadors of the ten protected denominations —from Gattinara to Ghemme, from Lessona to Boca—for a sensory journey through the volcanic soils and microclimates that make the Nebbiolo wines of Alto Piemonte unmistakable.
" An event of this magnitude represents a crucial opportunity to promote our region and its denominations, not only nationally but also beyond the borders, to Switzerland, Germany, and France, " says Andrea Fontana, President of the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte. " Thanks to the partnerships we've established, Taste Alto Piemonte is becoming a widespread event that, in addition to the two days of tastings on Lake Maggiore, extends throughout the month of November, offering a unique experience ."
“ Bringing Taste Alto Piemonte to the shores of Lake Maggiore is a strong signal: a territory that communicates with an increasingly wider and international audience, ” adds Vice President Lorella Zoppis. “ This eighth edition will not only introduce the different souls of our denominations, but will also offer the opportunity to experience Alto Piemonte in an authentic and immersive way, through widespread events, collaborations and itineraries that tell the vitality of our winemaking community .”
The Stresa event will open on Sunday, November 9th, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and continue on Monday, November 10th , from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with tastings open to the press, industry professionals, and enthusiasts. Alongside the tastings, curated by AIS Piemonte , there will be five masterclasses dedicated to exploring Nebbiolo and other native varieties, four of which will focus on Alto Piemonte and one in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini del Sannio , this year's special guest. The meeting of these two wine regions will offer an original dialogue between North and South, united by the desire to explore the strong identity of Italy's territories.
A temporary wine shop will be set up within the event, where it will be possible to purchase wines for tasting. At the tasting tables, producers will share their experiences, demonstrating the profound connection between wine, territory, and community. For industry professionals , entry to the tasting tables is free upon registration on the event's official website, where you can obtain an accreditation code, or by attending the event directly.
This year, Taste Alto Piemonte is also enriched with a series of initiatives designed to engage the region and the public in a collaborative experience. From October 27th to November 9th , Wine Weeks will enliven restaurants, taverns, wine bars, and wineries in the provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Biella, and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. They will offer wines from the Alto Piemonte appellations on their menus and by the glass, transforming the entire region into a tasting journey.
There will also be special collaborations that intertwine the world of wine with tourism, sports, and nature. Thanks to the Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway , passengers on the famous Foliage Train will receive a discount on admission to the event by showing their ticket at the event ticket office. An ideal bridge between the colors of autumn and the aromas of wine. The Lago Maggiore Marathon is also part of the program: participants will find a gift voucher in their race pack for free admission to Taste Alto Piemonte on the morning of Sunday, November 9th, combining the adrenaline of running with the pleasure of a glass of wine.
With the support of the Piedmont Region and the patronage of the Municipality of Stresa , the Monte Rosa Laghi Alto Piemonte Chamber of Commerce, the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, and the ATL Terre dell'Alto Piemonte (Novara branch), Taste Alto Piemonte 2025 confirms its position as a showcase of excellence for the winemaking culture of Northern Piedmont. The event's main sponsor will be Enartis , while La Stampa will be the official media partner . Technical partners include AIS Piemonte , Ferrovia Vigezzina Centovalli, RINA, Caleffi Hydronic Solutions, Wolf System, Amorim Cork Italia, Fratelli Francoli Distillerie, Acqua Valverde, and Assicusio , all of whom share a commitment to promoting the region.
Taste Alto Piemonte is, now more than ever, a collective story: the celebration of a mosaic of hills and vineyards suspended between the Alps and the lake, where Nebbiolo and native varieties give life to wines of profound elegance and identity. An event that renews the bond between producers, community, and landscape, confirming the central role of Alto Piemonte in the Italian wine scene.
