Tarquinia - The 20th edition of DiVino Etrusco kicks off

The 20th edition of DiVino Etrusco, the festival celebrating the connection between wine and the Etruscans, is underway. It will enliven the streets of Tarquinia's historic center from August 20-23 and 27-29, 2026, with tastings, street food, cultural initiatives, markets, shows, and concerts. Fifty-three wineries will be featured at the event, with wineries from the Etruscan Dodecapolis joined by those from Sardinia, Sicily, and Calabria. The inclusion of the Mediterranean is one of the main innovations of the twentieth anniversary edition and reinforces DiVino Etrusco's mission to create opportunities for producers, regions, and enthusiasts to meet. The tastings will be led by sommeliers from FISAR Tuscia Viterbese.

Alongside wine, the program offers a rich calendar of events. At Palazzo Vitelleschi, home to the National Archaeological Museum of Tarquinia, the "Calici e Cultura" series, organized with the support of the Lazio Regional Council, will connect archaeology, history, wine, and the region through guided tastings and insights into the use of wine in Etruscan society. Among the events are a keynote lecture by Vincenzo Bellelli, director of the Archaeological Park of Cerveteri and Tarquinia, dedicated to drinking in ancient times, and talks led by Carlo Zucchetti, the food and wine expert with the hat.

The Salotto Letterario returns, with a program of meetings that will accompany the public through book presentations, stories, cultural tours, and an event dedicated to contemporary art. DiVino Etrusco also features two art workshops: "Tratti DiVini," which will allow adults to experiment with watercolor techniques using wine as a natural pigment, and "DiVin Pittore," for children, which will guide them in their discovery of Etruscan art and symbols through play, color, and creativity. This year, DiVino Etrusco will once again be synonymous with street food, with restaurants, bars, pastry shops, takeaways, butchers, and pizzerias ready to offer specialties to savor while strolling through the streets of the historic center. Traditional local dishes will be complemented by the gastronomic expressions of Sardinia, Sicily, and Calabria.

Three tasting options are available: a day ticket for €20, including unlimited tastings and a glass with a shoulder strap; a booklet of four tastings for €10; and a booklet of three tastings for €7, both including a glass and shoulder strap. Tickets can be purchased in advance online on the Archeoares website and picked up at the Barriera Sam Giusto Infopoint. Evening admission to Palazzo Vitelleschi costs €4. With its 20th edition, DiVino Etrusco reaffirms its role as the leading food and wine event in the Tuscia summer, transforming the historic center of Tarquinia into the evocative setting for a festival combining wine, art, and culture.

DiVino Etrusco is organized by the Municipality of Tarquinia, in collaboration with the Pro Loco Tarquinia and the food and wine expert Carlo Zucchetti, with the patronage of the Lazio Region, the Regional Agency for the Development and Innovation of Agriculture of Lazio (ARSIAL), the Province of Viterbo, the Rieti-Viterbo Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Culture – Archaeological Park of Cerveteri and Tarquinia, and with the support of the cultural association Viva Tarquinia.
